No worries. Jews are very intelligent and have a great sense of humour. I married one.
His French pronounciation is rather Geordie, isn't it???

God these are funny!

I also thought Darkness was " I can't see any floors until I get to my feet."

Wait...It's not?

I always thought he was saying "thorns" instead of "floors"
Another very obscure song for me was "Contact"

"I'd come on over but I haven't got a wrinkle
Hope we get contact you and me
Hope we got touched down"
I believe that goes "I'd come on over but I haven't got a raincoat. Have we got contact you and me. Have we got touchdown can we be."

Does anyone think
'too much information' sounds like
'Tourist information'

And for the older Brits out there 'So Lonely' sounds like

'Sue lawley'.... (she was a newscaster around at the time!!!)

there are loads....
And I had forgotten a lot of the lyrics and quite often chuckle to myself listening to and making up whatever!!

Oh what a thread. I thought I was alone in mishearing lyrics. It was only last week when this one was cleared up for me:

"I'm a three line whip, I'm a substance they ban"

I thought it was a I'm a tree line whip/I'm a Sultan McFan"

You know, good old Sultan McFan, the half Irish half arab guy that's such a badass the police included him in their song.

I probably googled Sultan McFan at some point and got no hits. Of course now I would, as soon as this board is archived!

Yes, I know now, but I did not in my teens and 20s. I wondered WTF was Stewart thinking about needing wrinkles to meet his date....

It's funny the way our brains interpret things. I'm sure I had many misheard lyrics, but I was to bake-aked in High school to remember I'm afraid....

More interesting lyrics...

Postby irishrose1969 on 24 Jul 2007 00:05

Landlord....something about playing drums...huh?

Sounds like...mind you this is my mp3 in my ear and a few hours of sleep...
can't move till I play the drums and someones gonna get me some...WTF?

I am wearing out my message in a box CD set esp disk one. The first songs...Fallout, Dead end job...and landlord. Trying to get lyrics figured out...help?

My friend was listening to Contact and the bit about the "I would come on over but I haven't got a raincoat" came on and she hit the floor in hysterical fits. Guess her mind went south.

However I love this thread...its too funny.
