Ladies and gents...

In celebration of DM's awesome flag episode, along with the discovery of this very photo from the New Times Miami paper

I propose that we who have had or are going to have the flag responsibility change our avatars to pay tribute to the flag itself.

I will be changin mine very shortly.

First, congrats on the pic, CP! Excellent!

But avatar-wise, there are only so many pictures of the Flag in existence -- and only a very small number of people have even met the Flag yet.

Could I perhaps suggest that we wait to do Flag avatars later in the tour? After more people have had the opportunity to be photographed with it?

If people want to avatar themselves with the Flag, then by all means, of course -- that's their prerogative. But I would be loathe for the Flag to seem exclusionary. The reality is that only so many people can get the chance to handle or sign the Flag. But the purpose of it is to bring lots of people together for something positive and to show support. I'd hate for the Flag to make anyone feel bad in some way.

As an aside, though, I would LOVE for people to send me photos that they take/find of the Flag so that they can be assembled together later. I'm planning on posting about that in a day or two anyway.

ETA: BTW, can we maybe ixnay on the DM episode celebration? I am honored to have gotten the Paralytic Gaze from Stewart -- and I'm happy to share the reports with the brethren. But I don't deserve any special props for it. I appreciate the suggestion, but I really don't.

Spec A had his up though. Hmm Let me think if I want to put mine up. Maybe I'll wait. Definitely cool with waiting for the official tribute thing at the end.

You can change your avatar, CP -- don't let me stop you from doing what you want!

Just maybe as a more official/mass movement-y kind of thing, we maybe might want to do that toward the end like Conroy suggested.

But there's nothing stopping you from posting your own cool avatar fabulousness!

I think it would be nice to have a gallery of photos... There are lots who will sign the flag.... but it may well be a year before it finishes it's journey and can you guys who went to see the flag, I mean the band wait that long?

That's a toughie..... Mind you we do get the concert reviews and people post photos there so.

Personally speaking I love seeing the flags journey and seeing what you guys look like!! but I know I'm going to see the flag. I might feel different if I wasn't going to see it...... Toughie..
