I'm finally getting it

I'm finally getting it

Postby alex on 21 Jul 2007 03:19

Since the tour has been announced, I've almost been in a small fog. I've seen this board go from rather small, to something huge. It's been sooo cool to see all the postings from members who have already seen shows, reviews, pic's etc. I never posted because I was awestuck reading and looking at it all. To be honest, I was a little detached from it, as it was too far for me to be apart of. I was actually kinda proud of myself for not acting like it was Christmas morning every day. I felt it, but I never showed it. I really believed that I had matured now that I'm in my 30's.

I also never stressed about not having tickets for Toronto yet. I was gonna go to the shows and just buy from a scalper. Then the other night a friend gave me a local classified website. I found a person selling a floor ticket for 220 or best offer, and she was willing to deliver. As soon as I saw that, I started to get a wee bit excited. I was still maintaining my composure to a degree at the point that I emailed her. She emailed back saying she still had the ticket. When I got that email, I literally almost hit the roof. I was finally feeling what you all have been feeling. I know that, because I never made an offer on the ticket, in fact I told her she should not lose money and that I would pay the 240. And she didn't have to deliver, I would meet her half way.

On the drive to the meetup, I started getting an almost high feeling. The speedometer kept creeping up, till I saw I was doing 90 mph. I tried to slow down, but every time I looked, I was speeding, you know who cranking through the sound system. On the way home I set the cruise control, that allowed me to keep looking at the ticket. I almost attached the seat belt on it (hahhaha, jk)

So here I am, two days away from the first time I will ever see the Police, and I'm going stark raving mad now, but in a good way. I honestly think that Sunday and Monday might be the happiest days of my life to this point. Unbelievable, just un fucking believable. I finally hit the place you all are at, and it's awesome! Take care all.

I remember that moment. I had my lady friend on the phone the morning tix went on sale for the Seattle show on our birthday. I was there hammering away at the refresh button and then... bink! Two seats, right where we wanted to be. I sweated through the remainder of the transaction, but as soon as I the confirmation number popped up, I was like, "HOLY FUCK, WE'RE GOING TO SEE THE POLICE!!!!"

And then, yeah, when they walked out on stage...

Your story reminds me of my FC show experience. (I fanagled my 23rd row seats to 2nd row centre, but that story's for another post.)
Euphoria and a racing heart rate! You're in for a surreal treat, so enjoy every moment!

Awesome story Alex.

Enjoy the ride.

Don't worry about not being a mature 30 ish.

No one on here will think any less of you, as we all are in the same big boat.
