Police Tour Merchandise...What's it like?

Postby GinaSuperCat on 05 Jul 2007 00:51

The Bonnaroo shirts for girls were American Apparel, they printed nicely and seem pretty good but beware of the sizing range...their size chart suggests a size 6 is a large and they only go to xl so they are really more juniors sized and pretty small even for that...

I bought the brown shirt with "The Police" repeating in light blue writing. I wanted the light blue with checkered background but they were all out of real sizes. They only had the cool green checkered shirt in unisex. Dang. I see that one's disappeared from the web.

I agree the ladies shirt sizing runs really really small. I had to by an XL and I normally wear a medium in misses or large in juniors. The shirt is really stretchy and very, very thin, so there is some forgiveness there. It is very long, which is the style right now. You could just about wear it as a mini dress, if you were insanely brave. It will probably disintigrate within the year though I do plan to wash it in the gentle cycle and line dry it.

There were some shirts at the concert that looked cool online, but I was glad I waited till I saw them in person. The long sleeve shirt was pretty weak. Online they describe it as a thermal. It's just a long sleeve T. So was the woman's distressed badge t-shirt. Online it looks like blue on brown, but it's really more of a vile green. Kind of a "sopisticated color choice" (as my old art history teacher would say to describe something that was buttugly) if you ask me. Also it ready made, "DIY" holes in it. I don't need to pay $80 for something with holes in it already.

I didn't see the military jacket, but I did see the ladies bomber with the GITM faces on it. That looked awesome and I'm really considering ordering it online because I need a new fall jacket. I also might order the three faces boybeater undershirt. They only had that in tiny sizes as well.

I was realy torn about just getting one of the $35 tour t-shirts that had the dates on it, since you can't get those online. They only had them in regular unisex shirts and I never ever wear those t-shirts cause they are so ill-fitting on me. A small is too tight. A Medium looks like a bad dress that has no waist.

The piece of merch that I didn't get because I'd spent all my cash on over-priced beer and the other shirt was the the key lanyard with the laminated pass on it. Those key lanyards are kinda dorky, but they are actually very handy for me at work and it would be cool to at least be representin' The Police, if I have to be a dork.

Also the poster selection is waaay better at the concerts than online. I was hoping to see a St. Paul specific poster, but there wasn't one. I love collecting that kind of stuff. Maybe they will show up later online? I hope.

Okay, this is wild, I also got the brown shirt with blue writing and yes it is very thin material. I have washed it in delicate and have not put it in the dryer. Hopefully, this will make it last. I am quite petite so the small is a bit big on me. Hey, maybe I will try the minidress suggestion! I bought my shirt at the Vegas show and next week while in Tampa I will check out what they have available. If you go to the TPT site they are going to have a sale on 7/7/07! If you spend over $77 US they will take 21% off your order. I am seriously considering getting the black Fidel cap. I would never post this on the TPT site due to all the hub-bub on the site about Cuba. I think that the cap is very cute and unique. Cheers!

Hey pr, I can't email you because there's no addy in your profile. Drop me one when you get a minute.

Rats!!!! I was going to order the green checkerboard shirt also and it's gone! I ordered one of the ladies XL ones and it fit, but looked vulgar, so I sent it to Hannaha.

Anybody going to Chicago? I'll Paypal you the dough for a green checkerboard shirt in XL.
On Google - site:stewartcopeland.net "your keyword here" - thanks DM!!

You go rock the Fidel cap Jen. Wear it with your brown minidress. If the small is big on you then you have the Twiggy bod that those styles were made for. I say flaunt it if you can pull it off.

I should think that you should get some brown tube soxx to go with your minidress. Just to complete the ensemble. I plan to do the same with a jean skirt. I'm so copying divemistress. I just have to get my hands on a-line jean skirt. why are they are freaking cut like a big rectangle. A big rectangle is not flattering to me! I need big triangle.. But that's another rant alltogether.

Hey Gang:
I picked up the olive green fidel cap at the Tampa show and I love it! It has a velcro strap that is easily adjustable. this cap has the black THE POLICE stitching. Here's to a much lighter wallet and heavier credit card bill.

 When the sun went down at Dodger Stadium and they all started twinkling I did hallucinate. I thought I was in 1982 and my favorite band was playing.....

In Vancouver I got the special dress rehearsal t-shirt and that's gone through a few washings and it's been fine. I don't put a lot of stuff in the dryer so the t-shirts just hang up until they're dry.

I also got a really nice Fiction Plane t-shirt at their club show for..$15
It cost more at the arena. Unfortunately they don't have a store on their site but their t-shirts are nice quality and design.

The Police program is very nice, well done.
I also got the Zenyatta Mondatta tote bag, great for bringing lunch, a book, etc., to and from work.

And the Regatta de Blanc key chain. I feel certain I had one just like it 25 years ago.

I also got the long-sleeve triangles tee. I didn't wear it yet but I know it fits.
