I probably should, huh? You'd think I probably should. And you'd probably be right about this probability, if that's what you were thinking.

I know, I know, I know.

Look, here's a 100% true story. One day, I saw some people doing construction work in the mini-mall across the street from me. Intrigued, I stopped by and asked what they were working on. They told me they were building a new sushi restaurant.

Sushi. Within 300 yards of me. Like a poppy field next door to a heroin addict.

Well, despite the disbelief of my friends, I didn't go into that sushi place ONCE for the first year it was open. Not once. And then finally, I was here with a friend and he said, "I really feel like sushi. Is there anyplace close to here?"

I begrudgingly pointed directly outside, and we proceeded to walk over, and then the worst thing happened: I found out it was REALLY good sushi. And what happened after that? For the past two years, I haven't gone more than four days without stuffing my face with hamachi nigiri, spicy tuna hand rolls, unagi, maguro, rainbow rolls, spider rolls, hama negi, various sashimi and the like.

I don't know what this has to do specifically with why I haven't ordered the movie yet, if anything. But I feel there's some kinship between the two situations, and I'll leave it at that.

I've watched the film more than once, but never with the commentary. Like others said, I was riveted.

My problem is I hate, hate hate my DVD player. You have to turn the volume WAY up to hear the dialogue and then any music is ten times louder.

I really want a dvd recorder but can't settle on one. I want to hear it, hooked up to my (stereo) TV, before I buy!

I watched again with commentary this time. Fucking hilarious! I had to pause it at one part (minor spoiler alert)....



when they talk about Sting's flight suit.
Then the part where Stewart says everyone asks him about the shorts. I wonder what he thinks now with all the tube sock mania?
I think my favorite scene is with the sheep and the chicken running at the end of that scene. Totally bizarre but yet it made sense.

All of it was amusing and interesting and full of fun facts.

Methinks I spy a little self-knowledge regarding the addictive obsession thing in both instances. In all honesty, that's why I haven't bought it yet either . It would be all to easy to turn the DVD into a Tool For Workcrastination as I watch it over and over and over and over ... I'm saving it as a reward for when I hit a particular work milestone this fall.

This high degree of personal insight on your part makes it hard to say fuck off, though.

Commentary was very good. But a let-down when it was over. Much like sitting in the stadium at the concert when it was over, dazed and not wanting to leave. Friend looked at me and said, "we should leave...they're not coming back, you know". kind of like that, only not so dazed (well, except for hte green swimsuit parts, of course ) KIDDING.

I thought he called himself a...century perv.....cuz that's really what he looked like!!

I like the whole flight suit thing....It was too short for Stewart (and we can assume it was too long for the diminutive Andy) and it fit Sting-ie-locks....JUST RIGHT....

My Dad had a flight suit from WWII, but he wouldn't let me have it...
