Arena Setup - Has anyone had seats behind the Stage?

Postby PunkRockPoo on 19 Jul 2007 13:50

Hey Gang, I'm considering seats behind the stage in Atlanta. I'm thinking this perspective might be kind of cool, not only to view Stew but to see past the stage and into the crowd as well...However, I am concerned about the sound quality and if that location in the arena is jumbotron-less.

Can anyone who has been to the backside shed some light?

I did not, but my drummer friend purposefully chose those seats at the Anaheim, CA show, and LOVED it.

I was curious about the behind the stage view @ Seattle, and went over there to sneak a peek before things got started....great view, and the *do* have 1 jumbotron behind the stage, 1 on each of the sides, and of course 3 in front for the 3 man show!!

You'll be surprised at how good it sounds back there......You can hear the monitor mix from the stage, if you're close enough. Many times, that's easier on the ears than the house P.A.....

Someone on sting.com posted about this and was thrilled with the seats. I never considered it before but for a Police show I'd do it. This is easy for me to say having seen them from the floor, the side side, and far away in nosebleeds.

I was thinking that *when* they hit the west coast in the fall, that behind the stage tix would be what I'd go for.....looks like it'd be a very good drum lesson to me!!
