I Really Should Introduce Myself Properly...

Postby shyvixen on 16 Jul 2007 23:02

Thanks so much everyone for the friendly welcome! I think I'm going to really like it here.

I forgot to mention an interesting side effect of the concert - I was still pretty bald from chemo when I went to the show, but in the days after my hair really started growing! I now have what looks like an interesting salt-and-pepper punk hairdo. I think Stewart's drumming had something to with it. I mean, he's got a full head of hair right?

It's the power of the Copeland! Glad to hear your hair is growing back shyvixen. Is it growing back curly? A friend of mine's hair grew back really fine and curly and brown when previously it had been grey, straight and wiry!

Wow, thanks for sharing shyvixen. Yep, you're utterly right, Life's too short, and it often takes a semi hitting us before we realize we've only got today to really live.

Keep on thinking positive!! And keep on rockin'

I known a few people who got curly hair after their chemo. So far mine's been straight and bristly. Maybe it'll get curly when it's a little longer. I've always wanted curly hair.

That's what everyone always says who DOESN'T have naturally curly hair...

(I should post one of the pics from the wedding last weekend where I had mine straightened, you folks would barely recognize me...)

I know, it's the whole 'grass is always greener on the other side of the fence' thing.

Gorgeous photo, btw. I love the dress!

It's weird about the hair thing...it's true.

My Dad's hair was full grey...but after Chemo it's now black with grey hi-lites !

He thinks the cost of the hairtreatment was a bit steep though !!! heh, heh.

Postiveness and a good sense of humour overcome all.

Cheers

My good friend and roomie is in the hospital the next couple of days for his last round of in-patient chemo. He's really lucky in that he's only lost all his hair a couple times throughout the treatment. What's really funny is he constantly gives me shit about *still* having more hair than me even though he shouldn't! A good sense of humor indeed goes a long way...keep on laughing!!     Can't stop....   Whew! That's better.
