Well, in defense of Stingo (hey! is this ME talking???) at least he is hairless or shaved, who knows, he is the Original Metrosexual, the Fallen Angel who Woke Up on the Wrong Side of the Bed (too big)...Excellent work-o!!!!

I remember a loooong time I saw Dune with a boyfriend and he was trying to make out with me while I was wanting to be left in peace to ogle Kyle McLachlan (Me ogling Stingo...nevah!!). I had a crush on KML on Twin Peaks too!! Guys with Scottish blood have always mesmerized yours truly (apart from the "obvious" carrier of the Scottish Royal Name, Ewan McGregor, Jim McAvoy, Kyle...plus one guy who broke my heart when I was 18) :(

Oh, Kalypso, what to say about this post. So many issues for your therapist. First of all when you type the the number eight as a number it gives out a bunch of smiley emoticons so it looked like you were saying a guy broke your heart at aged one and you were insanely happy about it.

Secondly, I concur that Kyle M was and is a hottie. Also look for Patrick Stewart in a stillsuit in that movie. It's loaded with hotness. But mostly I just love Dune for it's over the top cheese. Ya gotta love a movie where people shout, "long live the fighters!!!" with little or no provocation.

I think probably Sting shaved for the photo. He has a modest amount of chest hair in most photos. (Yes, believe me over the years I've studied this intently...so sad, really.) And you are dead on that he is the orginal metrosexual. I'm not sure I quite understand the Fallen Angel, comment. (But that's not surprising. It was a kalypso post. must have at least one extremely obtuse reference that goes straight over my head.)

As for not thinking Ewan MacGregor is hot, are you mad woman. Hot, hot, jedi hot. Beard hot. Wearing bad jedi mullet. Still hot. Can't complete sentences because of Ewan's general hotness..

Ewan is cool, he did The Long Way Around about riding BMW bikes across the world.

It was very interesting.

but back to US being cool nerds.

It's very simple...when you think of the idea...or be the first to do it...you rule.

We Rule...even though I can take no credit, I feel part of the collective as Yes...I have been assimilated.

I am a proud SC'er. Proud to know you weasils.

More of the Stingo fans should sign up here and learn the ways of coolness....grasshopper, snatch this pebble from my hand.

WE'RE NOT CONCEITED, CONCEIT IS A FAULT AND WE HAVE NO FAULTS.

Ah-ha!!! Yesss I get all ga-ga and incomprehensible when on this board... I just left therapy, am only on anti-depressants, not even stoned...
Explanation: Fallen Angel because of his posture in the avatar and the lack of wings, but also because I think that St. Augustine in Hell describes Stingo very well, the Picture of Dorian Gray, always beautiful but there must be a picture of his evil soul hidden in some attic...
And, hon, I am TOTALLY with you with Ewan! He is Scottish, and he scorches! The only time I wanted to strangle him (to shut him up) was in Moulin Rouge.
Talking of MR..It had that wicked version of Roxanne in it 2 degrees of separation between Ewan and Stingo!

Being a Sting fan, I had tried several of his fan forums. They were fine, but they were all just a little too adoring. I think you need to be able to have a sense of humor and a sense of perspective about fanaticism otherwise it is just scary.

I think the tube sock thing was the coolest because it was so dorky. It was the kind of dumbass thing I would have done in high school to proclaim my love of the police (along with making my own synchronicity jacket and wearing it to a school dance...which I did...) It is at once mocking and worshipful of Stwart, which is something I think he could appreciate. He has that attitude about his band mates all the time.

I guess "sense of humour" is probably one of the most important attributes to being on a forum.

Personally I think the fact you can joke, or NOT fly of the handle...shows intelligence.

Being too much of a fan (I am guilty of this too) can be annoying, I try to back off but sometimes you get caught up in it...um...like defending the boys tour.

That,s why the Asshat comments are so fun.

The TPT boards seem unreal...I don't even understand what is going on half the time...is this a Police board? I dunno, it started out OK but now it's a downer.

Me no need no downers...me need uppers....?...sigh

I'm blabbing.

Incomprehensible, and yet creating a third option between understanding and confusion, which is inspiration. Example, that there could be a song called "Mean San Francisco Waitress."

I love it. I hadn't thought of the fallen angel thing, but you are right. It fits the picture and so many of his enigmatic qualties, such as how does he stay so young. How come he's at once so charismatic and repulsive...How come he inspires people to tear the clothing from their bodies (I saw two people do this in St. Paul) and dance suggestively before him. And also it suggests a third possibility to my sting theory (Sting is a robot, Sting is Dorian Gray...)

Oh thank goodness. I thought we were going to have to have a dual on the topic of Ewan's hotness. Our honor is satisfied without a shot being fired. I agree he was painful in Moulin Rouge. The whole thing was kind of painful, and yet strangely fascinating like a car crash. Baz Luhrman is like that. Horshit with flashes of brilliance. And yes Ewan singing Roxanne was a a great juxtaposition. A potential convergence of hotness that turned repulsive somehow..

Question: can you be a Sting and Stewart fan at the same time? Yes. How?
Discuss.
