Awesome for so many reasons: it's our cp, a stewart fan, and a winner of the front row tix from whom we'll actually hear an account of the show....RAWK!!!!

any word on how Sting's voice is doing? He sounded pretty ragged on Live Earth... here's to hoping he is ok

I came back. Wow. Amazing stuff. However, I must say.. it didn't feel like Sting reeled in with the audience or liked the vibes in Miami.

For one, it wasn't a sold out crowd.. and you could tell at times.

Second, a good portion left during the first encore. I was literally telling people to go back... haha. I was so euphoric that I was doing anything.

Third, "Dont Stand So Close to Me", the guys were playing in two different keys. It just didn't sound right... and I've heard the versions heard before.

Other than that, oh my God... what a killer show. Stewart Copeland is still my idol. Haha. I screamed "Go Stewart" during every song. And I was dancing wildly throughout every tune. (Where were the neon pencil ins to outline me?)

My dad was shocked at Copeland. He played in bands like wild in the 60's, even opening/touring for The Animals, Mitch Ryder, etc, but he won't stop talking about Copeland.

I think my main complaint, which is the only one really, is that there is no intimacy here.. at least at this show, I don't know for everyone else. I felt very cold amongst the fans who mainly sat down and stood up through the main hitters like "Roxanne" or "Every Breath You Take". That affects me. I mean, these songs are more than just songs to me.. they're ties emotionally. And the intimacy of the songs just weren't felt as much as they should have been.

It didn't help the security guard yanked my brother and I out of our seats that they originally directed us to in the first place... so during "Walking on the Moon" I had to move over to another section... which happened to be a better section. But I was totally grooving before and it totally killed by chi haha.

But I got it back. And I heard Stewart. And I heard mainly every song I would want. I must admit I miss the synths and piano, but it's absolutely remarkable what these three guys can do. Remarkable. I turned to my brother during "Wrapped..." and said, "Jesus, there's only thee guys up there. It sounds like an orchestra."

Without Stewart, the band wouldn't be. Simply put. It's insane.

Doing this entire tour which includes everything he did tonight over and over again for over a hundred times... proves he really is Klark Kent.

Heh. Just got one from CP that you guys are going to love. Can't wait till tomorrow morning.

blue, I thought intimacy was kind of an issue at Bonnaroo, but I sure didn't think so in Dallas, NoLa or STL. IMO it does depend on the crowd and maybe various other issues.

A couple things I've noticed from snippets of recordings I've heard:

* The Dallas crowd was SCREAMING. I mean, people weren't just hollering a little. The crowd noise at a couple of points is nearly deafening.

* What I first thought were canned backing vocals are the voices of 20,000 people singing along

* Stewart actually YELLS a few times during songs and you can't hear it IRL, but it's there on the tape....and it's awesome!

* I certainly didn't notice people sitting down, but I've been on the floor for three of the four non-Bonnaroo shows I've seen. FWIW, though? Everyone around me has just been going berserk. I've seen grown men cry on multiple occasions.

Man! I get to see 'em again in four days!!!!! Aw geez. Life is grand, indeed.

Totally understand, blue. When the people around you aren't there with you, it hurts your own enjoyment somewhat. (Thus far in my expereience, it's been more the stadium crowds than the arena crowds.) But I'm so glad you had a good time! High praise indeed from your dad and this:

Sounds like he must be....heh, heh....I think some people may have judged them way too early. They are hitting their stride now, it takes a little time and if you compare the early video clips to the ones now...quite a difference.

read the review-i liked what she said: I am still not digging Stewart Copeland's headband, but I know that it is functional, what with all the sweat flinging around and threatening to fog his little glasses. But even with that headband, that man is still hot.

altho, i am digging the headband and he has and always will be hot!
