Has anyone noticed the new tone SC has taken in recent interviews regarding the lack of acrimony in the Police at the time of their demise and since? I think I'm hearing a bit of revisionist history, brought on maybe by 20 years of hindsight and perspective.
You can take or leave the media's insistence that the Police basically hated each other in 1986. But you have to believe that it was true when you read the band's comments in the liner notes to Message in a Box. There was no ambiguity about how everyone felt. It wasn't kum-ba-yah.

Another change is that SC says there definately will not be a reunion, when he used to say maybe (if Sting wanted to).

So why change the story? If I had to guess, I'd say its a diversion of some sort. Why? To make it a complete surprise when the Police announce their summer tour in 06 or 07.

Wishful thinking, yes. Any other theories?

I don't think they heated each other with the intensity the media said.
I think is to much merchandise all around. Maybe they had frictions with each other, but this is human nature, and more when power is near their lives.

I think they liked very much each other, that is why the were really good playing together, but they are like brothers, especially Stewart/Sting and well, brothers always fight, (is an absolute true, and I have the prove just seeing my sons every day/night) and they maybe have jealous.
Is common to have these feelings in brothers relations.
They are like brothers, and maybe Andy is the older brother, that is cool and calm with both.

I really like Stewart point when he said, it will be no Police anymore. The same as long time ago, the first who said The Police split, I remembered was him, cause Sting always said, maybe, not yet, I don't know.

I think Stewart was working to much to make possible a Police joint, and now he is tired of this. I think if it will be a reunion, it happen, no matter what he or the others are saying.

I wrote to a very close pal this tought, that I want to share with you all.

Is not mine, is just from Tao that said:

The wisdom is let things happen, more than trying to cause that things happen.

I like the new proposition of Stewart-
No to a possible The Police reunion, cause now he seems more energetic in his beliefs as a true artist. (Is just my thinking)

But I really love to see Stewart and Andy with a new band name and voice, cause I never saw them in a pressence way in all my life :( .
I already saw Sting, when he came once to my town and well, for me is enough from Sting.

But for sure, I want so see Sting again live, but with his Police partners. But well, if this happenings will be possible, only time has the answer.

Let's things happen...

Another change is that SC says there definately will not be a reunion, when he used to say maybe (if Sting wanted to).

I think he only said it to get the heat off him. He new Sting would never agree, so that way he made Sting the bad guy.

It's like when my Mom says ".....I guess, IF your father agrees", when she knows he never will. That means she says yes, but he says no, so I'll get mad at him and not her.

To make it a complete surprise when the Police announce their summer tour in 06 or 07.

I guess theres always hope right? (yeah and theres hope that there will be peace in the middle east too!) But just incase DON'T FORGET ABOUT DALLAS! I'm tired of all the good bands/artists passing us, and getting stuck with Lizzy McGuire etc...

but they are like brothers, especially Stewart/Sting and well, brothers always fight

I do believe there friends. Come on when your around someone constantly fights happen. Like, I hate my sister most of the time, but if she goes out of town for a few weeks, I kind of miss her ...and we can hang out without fighting (for a few hours).

My comments to the following people; JL, Georgy Girl, Mrs Grendenko (on their comments (and please don't take offence, I'm just direct (and paranoid!). I think it's beatiful to find people with same tastes as me. One of the good sides of the force, in the internet.;

JL;
Don't worry about whether the Police will get back together or not, or whether Stewarts comments may contradict himself. 5hit happens and wont happen and everyones entitled to change their own mind but totally agree with u mate (fcuking hell, whos the hypocrite Frank!). The important thing is that they were together for quite a long time and have inspired 1000's of musicians (like me to try and do something with music like they did ((as if I'll ever make it!)) and if they do get back together it would just be a bonus for sado's like us, and Police fans worldwide. However, to me, I'm sure Sting wrote the song King of Pain, directed towards Stewart (I'm sure he just come up with the title first (directed at Stew) and just painted a beatiful picture around it) but hey Sting u must write the Polices next song and call it King of Forgiveness mate. U only live once and u should never give up on a good thing. Hes a good man (I think) and it's only up to him to live up to it.

Georgy girl;
Totally agree with u on everything u said on this matter especially on buddhist quote 'The wisdom is to let things happen, more than trying to cause things happen'. Really cool and real. I have the same idea on Stewart and Andy doing something like that. Sounds good mate but with them 2 I'm sure the buddhist quote doesn't apply as much as to the 3 of them getting together. You could say the same things about the the Smiths (only my tastes in music) and people like Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley and Kurt Cobain but unfortunately the latter 3 are no longer with us. Its none of our faults that people like Sting and Morrisey are stubborn on these matters but gotta respect them. Maybe it's too much 4 them. I don't know.

Mrs.Grendenko;
I agree with ya on the comments generalising about Sting being the daddy. Of course he is cos generally most musicians will agree that a band is all about the singer/songwriter (if that is the case) but all I've gotta say on that, that the fact is Stewart recruited Sting and if it werent for Stew, Sting would/might still be teaching English to school kiddies and looking forward to retirement. You (plural) just don't know do ya!

My comments to Sting:
Come on son, get your act together. Respect your roots and be grateful mate. Not all of us meet creative, sucessful, young genius', who sees potential in people like you and are actually responsible for your own personnal sucess. You've even said that you're not sure why this has happened to you. What I just said in the previous sentence is fcuking why. I think you the soundest geordy in the world mate and your song writing ability is 2nd to none and I personally love it but you could sort this 5hit out and re-unite with your former Police colleagues. Just think, if u wanted u could donate all takings to charity. All 3 of ya's must have enough. It wouldn't be a bad thing, to suffer, to see others benefit. Come on mate, it cant be that bad.

Sorry to bore you guys with 5hit you already know but we all know its up to Sting. In an ideal world he would read that and in ideal world the police would get together and in an ideal world they're would be peace but dont wanna offend SC cos he said tha John Lennon was a fcuking ar5ehole on some music best 100 something I saw a couple of months ago. I couldn't agree with him more. Loved the legendary comments mate.

Keep it real everyone. Peace

Don't worry Franco, and thanks that you were paying attention in what I'm saying.

Congratulations for your baby.

I can explain a little bit the difference from Tao and Buddha.

For Tao we are in life across Ying and Yang and we can live with a sweet taste. :D

From Buddha is quite different because you have to suffer with sour taste to reach the Nirvana.

Anyway I hope one day, no matter what the Police guys are saying, they could play together again. Just to satisfy their true fans and even more people. :roll:

So we can wait let's things happen with a sweet taste. :wink:

I didn't mean it like "He's the head of the group" (although later on him refusing to sing Stew and Andy's songs was controlling it). I just ment it as Stew knew Sting would say no, so he said "Sure if Sting's up for it", so everyone would blame them not getting back together on Sting (although I don't think Stew ever wanted to).
