Diaries, Commitments , whatever why oh why did Stung not get you guys involved yesterday????

He ruined your songs, if Pink Floyd could get back together after their debacle it should have been a walk in the park for you lot.

I blame the Sting...what a fool

I was also waiting to hear a surprise lineup of the Police. Those Police songs don't sound any good without Andy and Stewart...it really was a missed opportunity in my opinion. Sting should embrace his bands place in Rock and Roll history...bury the hatchet and play.

I think Sting was ok.. definately one of the best on the day by far.

He was also one of the most intelligent in that his bothered to tailor his songs to the occassion.. too many big name acts it seems couldn't be bothered.

Like many of you though I was really disappointed that Lenny Henry didn't announce that it would be the Police up there. It would have been marvellous to see Stewart and Andy up their on stage with Sting.

Still credit where credits due.. Sting did good!

It's just a shame cos it could have been so much better with just two additions.... stew & andy!

Mister Gradenko, you are very polite.
Sting is good with his solo songs, but The Police are three:
He, and Stewart & Andy.

What a Shame.
Sting will never represents The Police band.

Well at least he played "Police" song`s,unfortunately I missed Sting`s performance.Did he play just the three songs :"Message",Driven",and "Every Breath".If he did just those three, than my feeling is he should have given his Almighty consent for Andy and Stewart to jam.I mean what is that ,12 minutes!Come on!!! Plus by moral right those songs belong to The Police. At the very least he should have to pick up a phone ,call Stewart and Andy, and ask for permission to play those songs.I`m serious, where does he get off presenting himself (to the world ) with songs that are not his songs.Sting is a hypocrite.Peace Love and Understand this...now my dander is up...think about it, WORLD stage ,everyone performing like it was the last time, all for one one for all...and Sting keep`s the ball and doesn`t want to play. What a jerk!!!

Live 8?

Postby giovanni on 14 Jul 2005 13:42

I was talking with Stewart the other day about the Live 8 session but he didn't seem so interested in....he's working on his own project, a well as Sting is working on his own stuff...no real reason to reform the Police for such an event.

Won't they ever make a reunion?

I guess as fans we need to understand what is important to THEM. They have to really feel it, and doing a new and exciting project would seem more important than going back to something you have already done. I'll bet as time goes by the members of the Police will have LESS chance of getting back together because the moment will pass. They all have many things on the go...and Copeland is on stage with a guitar now so I'm sure he's having a lot of fun, and that's what it's all about.

My wish is that they got together to do one last studio album and a couple of big shows. I would love to hear a nice simple album like "Regatta" or "Zenyatta" nice and clean...relying on the strength of the songs. I think they would sound fantastic with the recording techniques now-a-days.

Like Sting said...you never say never...keep hoping.

O-O

Postby georgygirl on 14 Jul 2005 20:20

Thanks Gio for the information.

Well I see a little bit of Live 8, and I tought that this type of event are not for Stewart's personality. I really did. But I was a little fear to comment it, because of the cause, help poverty, and I don´t want to see myself very insensible.

So thanks Gio for what you told us, because you confirme my suspects. Gio you are so lovely with Copeland's fans, so please don´t leave us so long without any communication.

And is true that Live 8 is just an event.
And I agree with Al (my Italian Professor) that if Police will reunite someday, I hope they could do a big commemoration concerts tour all over the world to satisfy all their fans.

My point is,forget the crap and just jam already!!But it takes three to tango(Roxanne is a Martian Tango I believe)anyway we all know who is responsible for the "tude".All I can think of right now is how green green green with envy I am with our friend Gio!!!Man, you have the Man`s ear...like how frickin lucky are you!!!!I`m sorry Gio but I want your Job.O.K. I`m alright now,but may I ask of you a favor...not a question, but Please tell him Gary (worriedrabbit) say`s YO! or Ciao or hey or Whuzzup or whazagaming..

Live 8, Police reunion, etc.

Postby StephenBurd on 24 Sep 2005 23:24

IMO there should never be a Police reunion of any sort...recorded or live. Like a bad sequel to a great movie, leave well enough alone. Copeland's stuff since the Police has been easily as good if not better than anything he did with Summers and Sting. Besides...who here listens to Sting anyways? I sure don't...not beyond Dream of the Blue Turtles. He and his music sucks and I'm sure that's a majority of the reason they never played together again. As fans of the Police we're all craving to hear that sound again, but it wouldn't be quite the same as the work they did over TWENTY years ago (whoa, that seems like just yesterday to me).

You're right

Good reflections about Sting's music.

But maybe a Police reunion will be possible, just to make concerts playing old songs. I am restarting with this hope...
