funny story

There's a character on Trailer Park Boys called Phil Collins; man I love that show
"What ya lookin' at my gut fer?"
Don't hit him there!!!!!!
Ah yes! Another sick and twisted individual that knows of Trailer Park Boys. That show has only perpetuated the notion that us Canadians are a bunch of beer drinking-dope smoking-hockey playing-chicken finger eating-trailer park inhabitants. I'm okay with that.
He must've been one of the dumbass reporters at the Whiskey that asked if they were going to do all Police songs, or throw in one or two Sting solo numbers. Like that's not a slap in the face to Stewart or Andy.
That was ?uestlove, drummer for the Roots who asked that question....I think he was interested to see what the Police would've done with his solo material. Short answer? It would've rocked like hell!

By the way, I've been awake since 4:45 this morning. Why? Because when I woke up, there was Phil Crappin' Collins whining in my head. Over and over for two straight hours until I finally just gave up trying to sleep, nothing but

Throwing it all away
Throwing it all away

I watch the world go round and round
And see mine turning upside down

do do do do (cha)
do do do do (cha)
do do do do (cha)
do do do

I curse every single last one of you people.

things are strange with poor old Phil... Genesis, Mama etc aside, I saw a news item about a year ago which claimed that Phil is going deaf. I laughed out loud.

sorry DM

that was certainly NOT my intention!

it's funny, we go to a different dunkin donuts now because we don't want "phil" (yes, we have named her phil) to serve us.

Hey DM, maybe we ought to resurrect the old Earworm thread for one more go-round. Heh, heh.

True confession: I genuinely like most of "Face Value" and own a copy. Didn't we also have a fairly in-depth convo going a while back about "In The Air Tonight"?

Wonder what happened between that album and "No Jacket Required."
On Google - site:stewartcopeland.net "your keyword here" - thanks DM!!

Oh, man -- don't even. Let me get some sleep, and I'll lead off with a rousing rendition of "Easy Lover." She'll get a hold on you believe it. Like no other. Before you know it you'll be on your knees. She's an easy lover. She'll take your heart but you won't feel it. She's like no other. And I'm just trying to make you see. Trying to make you see. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
so, i'm at dunkin donuts over my lunch break.... getting my double latte with my co-worker, chris.

of course, i'm talking about the reunion (doesn't everyone incessantly?) and what do you know... "every little thing" comes on over the radio. so, i hear someone singing along behind the counter and, brazen as i am, say "who's singing?" hoping it's a fellow freak.

this 50ish woman comes into view and says "yeah, it's phil collins"

(pause) (shock) (silence) (crickets)

i just stand there staring at her and the words "listen lady...." almost escaped my mouth, and my co-worker says "it's the police" and she says "no, it's phil collins". i'm boiling, but in total control as chris argues with her... finally she just says "well, it SOUNDS like phil collins".

i take my latte, leave the store and have the biggest laugh i've had in days.
She's right!

Okay....okay confession time..... My husband and I danced to 'groovy kind of love' as our first song..... It was a bit tongue in cheek as both him and me are a bit cheesey... but..... I feel cleansed now.......

lemon tree

Postby giovanni on 02 Jul 2007 22:22

I hate when people listen to LEMON TREE by FOOL'S GARDEN and they say it's STING...when the track was released about 8 years ago more or less, someone even said it was the new Police song...a couple of slaps in their faces was what they needed!

Not that the song was bad, I mean, a nice song anyway....

Two hearts, believing in just one mind
Beating together till the end of time
