Showin' some love for Andy

Postby samburusunset on 30 Jun 2007 06:56

Wow, he's really on a roll in that clip, Dive!!
He's very underrated. His playing is definitely one of the unique things that define the Police Sound. I'm glad he's loosened up. He was a bit stiff and tentative in Vancouver.

(Do you think his kids gave him those South Park guitar straps? It was on the tube a while ago and I think of Andy every time they say, "Oh God, they killed Kenny." )
Stewart and Stanley together again!! YO!

He's so unique- he's atmospheric, tastefull, complex, melodic and boy can he shred when needed!<<<
Very nicely said, Skip.
When ever you see an interview with the band Andy always looks like a relative of Sting AND Stu and nobody really knows why he is in the picture! That is so not right ... hey Stingo, Stew you damn egomanics give that man some space ... !
HA! Although has anyone else ever noticed that Sting is always holding Andy in photos? From then til now, it seems that more often than not, Sting has his arm around Andy in tight group shots, like he's protecting a little bird or something. A little bird that could cut him to pieces with his razor-sharp tongue, but a little bird nonetheless.

Great comments, guys. Feeling the love.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

I'm on my third go around of One Train Later. Truely amazing read. I never tire of Andy's writing.

He's really lighting it up on the videos that I've seen on you tube.

I can't wait to experience the real thing in just under 3 weeks.

I was listening to the very end of "The Other Way of Stopping" today, where the drums and bass have faded and are that remains are Andy's chiming counterpoint lines. That guy is a master of ambience.

Not to mention the killer Middle-Eastern-flavored guitar solo on "Bombs Away," as well as the fade-out! Wow! 8)

I was disappointed Andy didn't say anything at the show, he's got an odd since of humor I like.

Okay, maybe he plays guitar very good, but I feel Andy as a very cold

man with peoplePolice's fans.

Maybe that is one reason that I never dreamed about him!

Cold? Andy? You gotta read his book, GG. It may take you a while, but it will be worth it. Plus, it's out in Spanish by now, right?

I've got a couple more cameraphone vids I'll upload at some point, but he's just running away with it every night. Although how Stewart's drumsticks didn't catch fire in New Orleans, I don't know.

Okay Dive, I am just telling my feelings about Andy.

I feel Andy so cold with his fans, maybe he is a shy man, I don´t know, is

just my perception.

Anyway, he is an extraordinarie guitar man...

I can read English too, but by now, I didn´t see Andy's book on USA

books stores.

It's good thing the humidity is pretty darn high down there ;). Wish I could have been there with you guys. Did Plutonic have his nails done with the GiTM Logo like he did in Vancouver? Anyway, I forgot to mention my favorite New Orleans French Quarter hang out to you guys before you left called Coop's Place http://www.coopsplace.net/ . It's right across the street from Margaritaville Cafe.

I absolutely LOVE that solo and the fade-out. Man, I can't tell you how thankful I am as a guitar player to have a guy like that inspiring me to go beyond the same-old, same-old. He plays, to use the cliche, outside the box.
