Not a lot of hope according to this article..

I think this interview confirms some of the many reasons we all love Stew - he's just so upfront and unselfconscious. He's utterly without pretention or self-aggrandizement. And f*cking funny as f*ck. What a dude!

I dunno if it's true but maybe the alleged tensions have fueled the continued improvements of shows as the tour has progressed.

Don't be sad, just enjoy The Police's ride now.

I agree, georgygirl.

Now I remember what Sting announced at Whisky...

"We're go on the tour." , that's all, not mentioned about a new songs etc.

So I am concentrating on these exciting days...

I'd be amazed if Joe Sumner were stupid enough to talk to some tabloid. You gotta figure he's been clued in on the phenomenon of ambush journalism more or less from the cradle...

Right Midori.

I am just like you, concentrating on these exciting days.

By the way, I don't know any person with a life without tensions.

Living between tensions It's common to human beings nowadays...

One poster was saying that the press was going to twist and dig out everything they could for their own purposes. For what we know, Joe's words might have been taken out of context or misinterpreted.

You know, I have a secret fear...Remember the Doors thing??? I was over the moon. That was a crash landing for sure.

What I meant is that all these derangement and new ideas will be lost if there is not even a live album to bear witness to it. To me, whatever makes Stew happy is fine. He probably got the lesson in life that many experienced: wanting something to happen for many years and when you get it it ain't all that.
Whatever will be, will be. :?:

I noticed a little while ago there were over 50 guests (about twice the average) only a few users signed on. The first thing I thought was that maybe the sharks were back for another feeding frenzy based on the article mentioned earlier.

Actually, that article offers me plenty of hope :)

Hope that Stewart hasn't lost track of his own artistic vision, tho it may be somewhat muted for the moment. Hope that, if on the off-chance there is a new Police album, that he will only be onboard for it if he gets a satisfying level of self-expression within its context, meaning a GOOD record not completely Sting-ified. My only real concern is that he may be going thru a rough patch right now experiencing such an untoward level of upheaval in his everyday life.

He also seems to strongly suggest that the band may indeed have shared a laugh over the press firestorm, even if it was initially misinterpreted. Didn't somebody here swear that was likely the case?

I know they are NOT doing it for the money. Stew has wanted to do this all these years. Just maybe to recapture...what, we will never know until the KryptoKid writes his memories. There is no reason to do something you regret doing.
If S was content and happy doing what he was doing, why did he say yes when the Lute King made the fatal call?
Maybe it did not happen at the right moment.
I would also hear something from Andy. He seems out of it entirely. Why?

Amen, Chris. On the last point,

Hopefully he can bring his family out to visit often. And hopefully, being so far away from home, he can maybe take a bit of comfort in this little home-away-from-home of ours for some familiarity and normalcy. (As normal as it gets here anyway.)

We've always got the fires burning, Stewart.
