Gizmo/La Notte della Taranta question

Postby kimmy on 01 Jul 2007 11:23

I've been here a little bit now and feel brave enough to ask a question that you guys wont laugh at me too much for..... or at least only in a kindly way.....

I'm confused about Gizmo and the La Notte della Taranta tour.
I know some of the members of Gizmo played but is it one and the same thing? The name of the tour the band did , or is it that they joined in (coz there's loads on the tour)

And have Gizmo released any CD's I found one on Amazon but it's not them.......

I really like the tour CD (I 'la' coz I know know the words and dance about!!)

But if this isn't Gizmo I would like to listen to that as so many people on the site rave about it.....

SOMEBODY HELP ME!!! (please)

It's easy...

LA NOTTE DELLA TARANTA
Ensemble of musicians from south of Italy (Puglia, Salento - the 'heel of Italy), rearranging traditional songs from that corner of the world, music and rhythms known as Taranta.
On drums Stewart Copeland, on keyboards Vittorio Cosma, and something like 20 musicians on various other instruments such as guitars, tamburelli, another drums, various vocalists, etc...
One cd was released out of their appearance at La Notte Della Taranta

GIZMO
Vittorio Cosma and Stewart Copeland formed another band (world rock band if you want to give a genre), but they only toured in 2005 and 2006 and for the first tour they had Raiz on vocals (Raiz was also featured on La Notte Della Taranta).
No recordings available.

Giovanni

Ps.: no recordings available...but me....hihihihih....

Gizmo

I can tell Gizmo sounds world-ethno-rock....that's the closest thing I can tell you... they played a few Police songs as well, such as 'Does Everyone Stare' and 'Miss Gradenko', as well as Klark Kent songs, Stewart soundtracks, and songs written by Vittorio Cosma and Stewart.

More than one hour and a half show, very good.

They are planning to record something and make a release, but I'm afraid it will take a long time now...
