I've been listening to a couple of recent boots, and I have to say that I'm just blown away at some of the amazing solos that Andy is pulling off. Yeah, some of his handwork has been a bit iffy at times ("MIAB" has good and meh days), but some of the space jams that he's been creating are just killer, especially on "World" and "Driven."

I have nothing technical or brilliant to add. Just wanted to say, Damn. and Wow.

I have to agree. Andy is incredible. I've heard a few of his solo works and he is just an amazing artist.

You said it girl. The man is on fire at times. I would encourage anybody who hasn't read his book to do so. It's well worth it.

Yep, Andy's book is far more entertaining & interesting than Sting's autobiography. (I'm not a Sting-basher, I liked his book too but thought Andy did a better job).

When ever you see an interview with the band Andy always looks like a relative of Sting AND Stu and nobody really knows why he is in the picture! That is so not right ... hey Stingo, Stew you damn egomanics give that man some space ... !

say ANDY isn't important into POLICE sound is damned... His guitar is the certified stamp of POLICE MUSIC.... exist a band sound without a guitar sound??? and Andy's guitar is remarkable a POLICE signature, his chords, arpeggios and effects are one of the best trade marks of THE POLICE; the same as Stewart drum style and Sting's voice... So, saying ANDY's work is minimal is an stupid opinion from someone that don't really know the music of THE POLICE... his guitar style shows, for common people, a simple and minimal guitar work, but the fact is that It have complex chords and awesome using of effects working between bass, drums and vocels and searching the appropiate spaces on their music. All of these is the heritage from his previous works and studies from rock, blues, jazz, world music and classical.

Andy is a capricorn guy who is funny in a way, shinny in another one and most of the time honest thats why he isn't in the way for trying the best role or intent to fight to be the star into the three of them... He is simple but at the same time exigent with work.

Besides, ANDY's guitar style is one of the most copied around the globe.

Andy has been getting better with every show. He's really putting himself out there and I think that's partly why the whole show is also getting better with each performance. His work is beautiful and he is clearly happy to rock out again.

I keep picturing Andy as an old blues guy with a stogie and a porkpie hat, playing guitar down on Beale Street with an open guitar case on the ground.

(Speaking of Beale St., read in Broken Music today that Sting claims the Stax/Volt stuff as a major influence...not that I'm surprised...)

I've always thought Andy is rocks most underrated guitarist.
He's so unique- he's atmospheric, tastefull, complex, melodic and boy can he shred when needed!

I was listening to the excellent boot of the Dallas 6/26 show today, and my mom (who is a huge Andy fan, BTW) came in and couldn't believe some of the stuff Andy was pulling out in those solos. I love that he's really been stretching the way the songs sound and taking things in such different directions, every night sounding better than the last.

The man truly sparkles on "Truth Hits Everybody" (tour version). The little guitar thing after the middle 8 is truly joyous. That is definitely the song I'm most looking forward to.

He makes it all look so easy.

Andy is still a very talented guitarist. Based on the latest videos I saw on YouTube, it seems to me that he's even more active than ever. God, this guy is 64 years old! I hope to be in the same good shape when I'll get to this age!

I can't say for his skills on writting (hope one day his biography will be translated in french, cos my level in english isn't good enough to get all the subtleties it probably contains), but he is an excellent photographer. His work is really brilliant, I really like his way to capture the light. I've heard of the possibility of an exhibit in Barcelona, I hope it'll be at the same period of the concert and look forward to see his beautiful work.
