Profanity and the Police

So, I'm relatively profane. I think I got it from my mom, who (when she was younger) tended to swear like a sailor. I try and curb that when I'm on forums like this one, where I'm aware of the fact that young and impressionable people might be shocked by my potty mouth.

But one thing I've noticed: when Sting is onstage with the Police, I have yet to see/hear a show where Sting-o isn't spouting off "fucking this" and "motherfucking that", usually multiple times during any given concert. It's kind of funny, because he DOESN'T seem to have done that in any of his solo outings. Only with the Police.

- Do you think it's because of their punk rock origins?
- Do you think it just makes him feel more rock-and-roll?
- Do you think it's part of the energy and vibe of the music itself?
- Do you think he does it consciously or it just comes out by itself?
- Do you even give a shit?

i'm with ya jeff... sting does swear alot with the police, but if you've read any interviews (and i'm sure you have), i noticed that he swears in them too. i think sting has a potty mouth too just like the rest of us common folk.

I saw Sting in the 80's in Mountain View and he had this giant keyboard set up and it failed and he was smiling but saying fucking piece of crap and stuff like that. A roadie comes up, sets up another one. Sting signs the old one and tells the roadie to give it to the little girl in the wheelchair. It was fucking fantastic. They escorted her out by security after so no one stole it or anything. She was glowing.
