So uh, How was the Dallas show?! Where are you guys?!?!?
In a word: phenomenal. Like a different band from Bonnaroo. I actually cried during a couple of numbers.

They did it. They really are back. I don't really have words to describe how, much my mind is blown, actually.
i can feel goosebumps on my scalp and butterflies in my stomach when i read that... i actually feel like i'm going to cry!

sounds like you had a blast in spite of losing your bag... happy for you!
[Edit: Hey, sorry, guys. Didn't realize we'd added a third page of posts. I'm still a little out of it. Be prepared, people: better lay in some Kleenex. OK, full disclosure: I bawled like a baby through the entire second half of the show. It was like...what comparison would be apt...well, I don't want to overstate the case, but it was one of those nights I'm going to remember for a long, long time.]

The show *flew* by. I didn't look at my watch once, which is sort of unheard-of for me at a concert. Not that I don't enjoy live sets, just I'm not usually in a trance, not believing what I'm getting to see. ;)

I liked Fiction Plane a lot, in contrast to the mucho grumbling I'd been hearing from people. Joe's voice is his own, no matter how much genetics seems to be playing a part. Their stuff isn't as polished as The Police, but then they haven't had 25 years to work up their material. I predict great things out of Joe.

FP played a set at a store somewhere at noon today, but I was too zonked out to make it. Gina saw the last four or five songs and said there were only about 20 people there. Wish I'd got myself over there. I guess I'll get to see 'em again tonight, though. Going to buy their album this evening.

Wonder when Sting's daughter Coco will get an album deal. The stuff on her Myspace page is terrific.

OK, drinking coffee...must work up energy level to go scream my head off at another show...;) Then gotta go Ebay tix for Louisville and Atlanta. I'm also going to pick up another somewhere, probably.

It's gonna be tough. I'm leaving for a 3-week trip to South America on the 17th (Galapagos & Amazon) and the show is the 15th. I'm going to buy a $50 ticket, and try really hard to get packed and ready before Louisville so I can go.

After that? I'm going to Ebay as many tickets as I can and start looking into going to some other shows. Looks like Gina is going to have some company. ;) Don't think I can swing New Orleans this weekend, but I'll be in St. Louis next Monday.

vespapod and I are home safe (and wishing we could've stayed for tonight's show, but that's life). Last night we were on the floor center about 10 rows back.

Yesterday was simply awesome all around, when I get a chance to sleep I'll post more, I promise!

Hannaha, are you going to Cardiff? I posted in the tickets forum, but no one has answered.
I'll be in the UK (and Vienna) for a biz trip in OCt. Cardiff is the only show I will be able to make though!

I search every day for shows I can go to! But the kids, the husband (he's going to Croatia to shoot a film for 2 weeks in July)- and then they head right after pretty much to Europe!

Hoping more shows get added back to the other end of the States (and like I said, that they change the setlist around by then too).

Aaah, to have no attachments and be able to go again like I used to....
but then again, it's nice having littlies you can cuddle on loney nights!

Glad that you and vespapod made it home okay, sockii. Hopefully this second trip was a bit easier than the first?

ETA: I'm only now seeing your ETA, Dive, and just wanted to send out a hug.

Thank you very much for your report Bob from NY.

The quote I like it the most about Dallas last night concert is this:
Mr. Copeland remains one of rock's most inventive timekeepers, swirling jazz with punk and reggae and adding an Afro-Latin vibe to "Wrapped Around Your Finger."
I can imagine!

I just got home a few minutes ago. The worst part of my trip was that my train home from the airport was an hour and a quarter late, but all the travel woes were worth the hassles for most people.

I agree with what everyone else has said. It was phenomenal, a million times better than the FC show. They are really starting to click and I like how they are tweaking the songs and fine tuning them as they go along. Personally, I thought the sound was pretty good in the arena, especially when Stewart was hitting the hi-hats and cymbals. I missed the opening gong hit because I thought they were going to start at 9 so I hung out in front of the Fiction Plane table talking with Michelle, Fiction Plane's tour manager and some other people that she knew and heard Message starting about 8:45.

Oh well. I can't wait to hear how well they sound by the second North American leg! I'm too exhausted to write any more this evening. time for bed!
