Oh no! Sorry to hear of the travel nightmares. Glad you've all pretty much made it, I feel bad for the shirt not being there yet though...
Looks miserable here in Austin, better not be a rainy, windy mess on my drive up. Guess I should go pack and get this show on the road!

Um, it did occur to me, believe it or not, not to check a bag, but I had a couple of heavy/bulky items and this was a two hour flight without a layover (which is usually fairly problem-free). Sometimes you just can't avoid checking a bag...I'm usually carrying a ton of heavy scuba gear, so I guess I've resigned myself to some extent.

Apparently they've found the damned thing and it is allegedly scheduled for delivery to my hotel. Woohoo! I'll call you in a minute, con.

Thanks for all the well-wishes, folks. I look forward to meeting some of you, either this go-round or the next!

Still no bag. Allegra, I'm thinking I'm going to have to bail on your get-together, much as I hate to, because there's a good chance I'm going to have to visit the mall and buy something to wear tonight other than the distinctly gamey t-shirt I had on all day yesterday. (It is rather fetching - The Police 1981 GiTM model - but, um, p.u. ;)) I'm figuring I don't know my way around so I'd better build in some extra travel time, and I know you need to make a group reservation.

If I can manage it I may swing by and grab a Coke with the crowd just to meet everyone. If I don't see you, have a blast!
It's definitely been a trial by fire getting to Dallas.

vespapod and my flight was delayed but we finally got in around 11pm last night. Somehow Hertz royally screwed us over on our car reservation so that's costing us and arm and a leg, but we also scored the same Priceline rate at the Doubletree as Conroy. (Hooked up with him at the hotel bar last night.)

vespapod also lost his cellphone in the philly airport :(

After everything, man, this concert has to kick ass tonight, right?
That's why I've only used AVIS. Not only is it the cheapest and they give you a good deal over the phone while talking to them directly, but they have always taken good care of me. We had bad luck with cars in Miami once, but they kept changing them out for us and never once raised our rate.

Try them next time. And skip doing it online since you're paying for the middle man too. By calling them direct it was cheaper than the Interent, plus you can wheel-and-deal with them personally.

Oh I'm sure I will. I'll be wearing blue jeans, and a Jimi Hendrix t-shirt. I'll have my eye out for Stewart shirts.

Three hours to go!

Tomorrow I will receive a phone call from a peruvian close friend who is super fan of THE POLICE and that imagine he is a clon of Sting  well he will be at the first rows and will try to make a short dialogue with Danny Quatrochi...so I suggest him to call me while THE POLICE play on stage... perhaps it will be the best recipe for my illness
