Just wanted to take a moment and thank everyone for the incredible responses again. Seems a lot of us have some sort of bumps in our lives we've all had to get over. Just amazing when you can incorporate something like music and use it to help you through the bad times. I can't say the same about my radiation therapy or the countless hours spent in the hospital. Some things never change though. Not horrible news but got some bad news yesterday and Omegaman just sounded so good, you know.

So you were in Santa Cruz in the early 80s? Were you a local or were you in town for treatment?

I ask because I also spent a lot of time in Santa Cruz/Aptos in the early 80s as well, and The Police were there all throughout.

I always felt that "Regatta de Blanc" was their most "timeless" album, one that made me feel the most 'taken away', as it were, and was the only album that did so, until U2's "Unforgettable Fire" came out in 1985 (which hasn't lost any of it's ghostly quality). "Regatta" was always the tape I'd play the most, in my little Sony Walkman knockoff, in my early high school years.

As far as your battle with the C, you know that you can come here and talk/vent/cry, etc. and you will find support. About ten years ago, I had a loved one successfully go through chemo and radiation at an early age (22) for non-H Lymphoma, and music was there thoughout. It *can* be a vital part of therapy. I'm glad it worked for you.

Life has its bumps, but keep your chin up, and keep up posted if need be.

Hi BinaryXtreme.
I hope your news turns out to be a minor bump in the long run, not a hurdle. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Krok, I actually grew up in San Jose and loved to drive over the hill to go to Santa Cruz and hang out by the boardwalk and go to Twin Lakes beach. I had my surgery at University California San Francisco and still have family in the Bay Area. I live right next door to Reno now. When I refer to Santa Cruz often is where I could go in my mind too when I needed to just be away in my mind if that makes any sense. I swear every song of the Police when I hear it just brings back a thousand memories.

I had drum sticks and tried to keep up with Stewart beat for beat as a form of physical therapy while listening to Police tunes. Talking about all of this is bringing back such memories. Some good, some bad, I'll choose good.......

*Funny, the other night I was really having bad physical symptoms, I have good and bad days. I grabbed my iPod and went out on my balcony and So Lonely came on and this really strong wind came along and brushed my face with the cool air and everything was just, ...ok again.....*

I hope all of you have moments like that...

Hey, I grew up in Los Gatos, and would go 'over the hill' on weekends, holidays, and summer vacations. I even lived there for a few years in the early 90s. That area will always have a soft spot in my heart.

In fact, I just got together with some of my old friends from those days at the recent Oakland show, all of which I hadn't seen in 23 years.

I am also familiar with the Reno/Tahoe area, and have family at the lake. So you can imagine I'm online constantly with the recent Agora fire...

Actually my dad isn't the biggest Police fan. He went for me which makes it even more special. This is actually my stepfather that married my mom, learned she was pregnant with my half sister, had his 14 year old step son move in that was diagnosed with brain cancer less than a year later and my younger sister moved in just months after I did. He's a great guy.

He's a huge Edgar and Johnny Winter fan and loves classic rock, especially blues rock like Albert King. He did say Stewart was incredible on the drums and was blown away by Andy's riffs. He actually got Stings autograph for me years ago when he worked for the Hilton in Reno. He's met Sting twice.

BinaryXtreme, I lost a cousin from cancer almost two years ago, and 9 months after her, Copeland's brother Ian died from cancer too. Maybe many happenings about cancer illness, make sense in our lovely guys to play in a new tour. Stewart is an extreme good musician, a genius, and I always tought he is magic. Here, some of us called him Superman, and I am very glad that this magic is spreading on you...

Every little thing he does is magic!

Sorry to hear about your cousin passing. You know, after reading all these posts and realizing what great people are here on these forums, I hope I get a chance to meet some of you if not all someday. Guess I got to go buy some tube socks huh?

Thanks for sharing your story. Music is a great healer.

I'm sure Stewart is touched by your post, especially after what he has been through in the last year. We all miss Leroy, but I think his loss prompted the reunion, so I guess there was a silver lining on that cloud.
