So who here has kids?

Postby animal on 22 Jun 2007 23:54

Have a son who turns 4 next week.

It's great as I get to help him setup his toys. He can't get enough Thomas & Friends, he's setting up elaborate tracks in his bedroom.

We were in the car the other week, mommy was in a store, and I had Reggatta de Blanc on the CD player. As Message played I heard him say Message in a Boddel.

I told him that was Stewart, Andy & Sting, he gave me one of those looks like OK dad, where's my animal crackers.

Dirty Martini,

He lives under a waterfall. Nobody can see him, nobody can ever hear him call.

Gotta play that song loud.!!l

You've done it again. Now I've gotta dig out my OASIS cd

I feel such an old mum and yes they roll their eyes everyday, there goes mum on her Police talk again.

19, 17 and 13. Two girls and one boy and no Police fans, though they do get blasted everday with their music.

Well I can't help it if they have no taste.

I blame my hubby's genes on that one.

Kids: I have 3. Boy, Girl, Boy. Ages 12 - 8. They respect my music. I respect their music. Next concert, it's my daughter's turn - Hilary Duff.

No kids. By circumstance, not choice. I've got 3 great nephews (Andrew, Brad and Trevor) though. One turns 13 next Wednesday. OY, my poor sister!! They live in San Diego and I'm waiting for a S.D. show to be announced. Then I'll fly out to take my Andrew James to see the other Andrew James (and his mates) for his first concert!

And, I've got three feline "kids": Samson and Delilah (9) and Sasha (1 1/2).
They give me the furry eyeball when I'm screaming with laughter at some of the posts you "not normal" people write. :D
Stewart and Stanley together again!! YO!

policerule, I'm 37 and female. I dunno, I thought about it for a while...but I don't really think there's anything wrong with not having kids, for a few reasons. So I didn't. Hub can go either way, luckily. We both love to travel and have a few other favorite hobbies (like scuba diving) that don't mesh well with child-rearing.

Not that I think there's anything wrong with having kids either. I think my friends' kids are adorable. I'm actually glad to take 'em off Mom and Dad fairly often. It's kind of a win-win, I think.

Oh god no! I use to say I might have one when I'm like thirty, but that dosent sound that far away.... so maybe 40. I've been a pain in the ass, so I'm sure my kid would be worse.

Policerule.... I'm in my 30's and no kids... (cats and a husband)

I don't want any, I couldn't just fly off to Tornoto for 5 nights and leave them.....

Children are a joy but bloody hard work.... I'm too selfish and like my sleep too much....

I am a great auntie though (coz I get to give them back!!!!)

Put me in the child-free-by-choice club. Nephew and niece (I owe my brother big time for providing the grand-kids!), and kids of close friends are enough for me.

So its going to be a bit of a 30-something-with-no-kids-female, knobbly-knee'd, get together before Twickers!

I have one son, Trevor, who turns 8 today, plus three great stepchildren, Zach (19), Oliver (18) and Anna (16). It's a ton of work, but the payoff in joy is immeasurable.

I'm proud to say that Trevor is quite the Police/SC afficionado! He is particularly keen on the more obsure tracks and has been known to occasionally adopt Police-speak; i.e. Mom to perplexed-looking boy: "What's wrong, Trev?" Trevor: "I'm covered in misery!" YES!!!

One of my proudest parenting moments recently was when the mother of one of his friends called and asked if I could burn her son a Police CD. Seems he wanted more of that music he's always hearing over at my house!

Gotta love those pliable little minds!! :D
