Nor do I - we're still imperial over here! I'm 5' 9" so I'm not a giant but I grew upwards very fast and then didn't get any wider for a long time!

Is that a real tat?! It's awesome!
yes hannaha, i have decided to come out and show my sick devotion...

i got it the day they announced the tour. they guy that did it thought i was nuts for putting just that on my arm, but i am very happy with it. thanks for the compliment!
That's awesome. I've actually been wanting to get a Ghost tat for ages and went shopping around for a qualified artist to do it a while back, but have yet to find someone who will do the design the way I want, the size I want, without bitching that it needs to be bigger/simpler/etc. And I'm not going to trust my skin to someone who isn't confident they can do the work right. I've been told repeatedly that red is a bitch to do in a tattoo unless done by a real skilled artist and treated properly afterwards, plus all the straight hard lines are not to be trusted to someone who isn't very skilled in that sort of thing (I have a friend who is an awesome tattoo artist but sadly is in the UK, so unless I score a trip to England at some point she can't do the work for me.)

I don't have any tattoos, mostly because I'm so compulsive that I'm 100% sure if I get one, I'll have to have another one, then another one....I have been considering an ocean-theme tat for a while, though. Lately I've been thinking about a Message in a Bottle one, though I don't quite have the design worked out.

Put your hands up, this thread has been officially hi-jacked. This is pretty funny, considering what this thread started as, where it has gone and where it is now. Nice :D

sorry! we did sort of hijack the thread!

yeah sockii.... i learned that the hard way. i thought because it was so simple that anyone could do it and i was so excited about the tour and i had been planning to do it anyway, so i just figured NOW IS THE TIME! when i got there, he bitched about the red (like you said) and the size (like you said) and the simplicity of it. i told him to just do it because that's what i wanted! it didn't heal really well and i thought there was a bit of scarring, but it's looking better now and i'm going to go to another guy to get it touched up later. so, you are definitely smarter than i am for taking your time!

Apologies for continuing the hijack, but

Sockii, if you're not in a hurry and are willing to go to Brooklyn, I may have someone for you. He's a friend of my husband's. (I haven't met him in person yet, but we've chatted over email.)

I'll probably be going to him in August (in lieu of the Virgin gig), so if you're not in any hurry, I can give you more of the first-hand experience afterward. Thus far I can tell you that his work is lovely, his lines are clean, and his personality friendly and accommodating. He's a sweet man, but obviously I'll wait until after I've gone to him myself before officially recommending him.

I've seen a couple of bad reactions to red ink, so you may want to do a spot test first to make sure your body doesn't hate you for it.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

No apoligies neeeded. I just thought it was funny that "tats" ended up being the main subject.

No, I'm in no rush, so I'll be happy to wait and hear about your experiences.

I initially had wanted to get it done earlier this year to celebrate the tour (but it has been something I've wanted for a long time), but my friend the tat artist was very helpful about cautioning to get it done right. I figured on bypassing the red ink issue because of what I'd heard, opened the lines up a bit at her suggestion because of bleedthrough issues, and have basically settled on this as what I'd like to get done, eventually, but on a smaller size than pictured:

Sure thing! I look forward to your report! :D

Nice, sockii. Looks great!

I'll probably be seeing Craig on Aug. 4, so I can give you the low-down (and share the pain) at Giants.

Hannah, if there's one thing I've found, it's that if there's something you can think of, there's a porn site for it already. I guarantee you that chixinsox.com would get a ton of subscribers.
