The more I think about it, the more I think that really is a pretty sweet idea.

Or even Tube Sock Girl tube socks!
I dunno, sweetie. I miss STEWART, but on the other hand we've seen what happens when he posts using his real name on here. I'd rather not hear from him for a while than expose him to a bunch of flak from "journalists" determined to make a quick buck by misinterpreting what he says.

He could send us updates through Gio, I suppose....
You can't tell me that Stew would actually be thwarted from posting on his own forum?! :!:

Maybe if he just did a short hello, and how he felt about Bonnaroo (in general that is).

Although, I do like the idea of him sending a post to Gio, then Gio posting it "under the radar." That may be better.

Another thing that could work (but may be a pain in the butt) is if Gio put a new log in page up where only forum members could read the forum, or if Stews comments were only under dinner tales and you had to be approved as a member and then log in to read his posts. I know that would be a pain for outsiders, but it could thwart off some press posers perhaps.

I still think there should be a separate forum viewable only to those with long enough tenure here, or that Gio deems can view. Stew can post there to his heart's content, and the general public and media wouldn't be able to see it.

I agree and that's a great idea. Unless of course someone approved by Gio turns to the dark side, copies Stewart's post, and sends it to the world.

More ideas to protect Stewart's posts from the darkside:

1. Stew gets an alias for the forum (which he may already have), Gio sends it to all of us members via email so we know when he posts. This would be under the condition that whoever gives his alias up on a thread gets removed from the forum permanently.

2. Stewart or Gio just does a chatroom thing every so often where once the text goes by, you can't read it anymore so it would be harder to save or print, etc.

3. Stewart sends Gio a carefully written post and Gio emails it to the Krypton forum members' personal email with a warning in red not to forward the message, print, or copy it, etc.

I don't know what will work!

Nothing will work. All the systems are easily thwarted, and there's nothing saying that any one of us regulars isn't on the Dark Side either.

Stewart will speak when he can (and wants to). Unless he trusts one of us enough to email him or her personally (such as Gio), we'll all just have to deal. Not to mention, he's a bit busy at the moment. Doing some temp job with lots of travel or something.

Anyway, if Stewart ever just wants to chat amongst his people, he can easily sign up under a pseudonym. Otherwise, he'll just have to put up with us in silence from his ivory tower.

Cool, PR! We'll have to keep that in mind. Thanks!

We've taken over whole threads in the past discussing T-shirt possibilities... I think Team Copeland ones with our user names on the back would be very cool. We've got enough flippin' artists and designers on here to come up with a decent design, that's for sure! I've always liked sockii's slogan "Stewart Copeland will always be cooler than you" personally. Although "What would SC do?" has a place in my heart also.

I'm getting ready to fry up a couple more shirts like my Bonnaroo tank top for a couple forum users and thought about offering the design to anyone who wants it, but I don't want to compete with Gio's official SC.net shirts - especially since he's said there are new designs coming.

Is there an official word on this from Gio? I'd hate to cause trouble for him, as much baloney as he tolerates off this crowd. ;)

I think we're pretty much in the Don't Ask, Don't Tell area, Dive.

Keep to an unofficial fan effort, make no profit, privacy of your own home, blah blah blah.

So it'd fit under the 'personal use' rather than 'for distribution' distinction <grin>
