is it just me or did they kick it up for bonnaroo? from the footage i've seen so far, it really seems like they gave more energy on saturday night than i've seen at their concerts.

Honestly, I think you are right.
It seams to me that they started the tour at 30 % of their capacities, and now they are at 40 %. I hope they will go above in 1, 2 or 3 weeks.
I’m really wondering if they are self conscious of all the critics we made. They are improving to satisfy more fans… If it goes on like that I will do positive critics again. I hope I will soon. Kan you imagin ?

not sure why, but it does seem that way. i will see them on july 28th in boston and then again in new york on 8/1, so i hope that is the case. they will be up to speed by then!
i think with bonnaroo, they were playing to a younger crowd and a much larger crowd with more people watching and they were possibly putting a little more effort into it. i still feel like sting is just going through the motions. stewart is definitely the highlight of the show

my wish is for them to do a few small concerts with exclusive fan club members invited only so that they might do all of the more "unpopular" songs from their albums. we will only hear the "hits" on the tour and i think that many real fans like us are wanting more... i have never seen them live and i'm happy to get what they've got, but i'm still wanting more of course.

Bands are like machines.
It's hard to cold-start a band that's been sitting unused in a dark garage somewhere. Whenever my band takes a break for over a month, we have trouble getting the hang of things for the first few songs of a gig. If we'd sat dormant for 20+ years, we wouldn't remember each other's first names.
All things considered, I think the band has done remarkably well. I don't think it's really fair charcterising them as having run at 30%. The show I saw in Seattle was more like 85%, in my opinion of something that probably shouldn't be quantified in the first place.
However, I would expect that as the tour progresses and the guys work through a couple of kinks, they'd continue to get tighter and less focused on the playing and more on the performance.

good point jeff. i think they are doing fine really and like i said, i'm just glad to see them finally! i've seen sting a million times though (yes, i'm a sting fan too) and i still feel in places that it's the sting show. i do see what you are saying... it's not 1980 and they are not the same people.
i'm sure they will get tighter and enjoy it more as they play more gigs and it will come through in the music.

It was kind of a bummer to not get more shots of Stewart on the Jumbotron at 'Roo, since we were a ways back in the crowd and it was pretty hard to see. Again, I didn't watch any of the Youtube vids before the show so I have nothing to compare this to, but I thought they rocked plenty. Can't wait to actually get to see Stewart and Andy from the fifth row in Dallas next week...

And I live in Los Angeles and I'm not going to any of the three LA-area shows (Staples Center, Anaheim, Dodger Stadium)! Weird.

You know, I've been thinking about that the past couple of weeks... exclusive fan club show in intimate club setting where they don't have to worry about the big lighting setup or even pleasing the general fan base that pays almost $300 to show up to a Police show ready to get a jump on traffic and leave after Every Breath You Take... they could whip out more obscure songs in a far more laid-back, relaxed, non-multi-million-selling-arena/stadium-rock-concert setting...

totally... i hate that big concert feeling where you have to rush to the car after the show so that you aren't in a 3 hour traffic jam at 11pm on a weeknight - you can't even enjoy the high...
something for like 5,000 people - 1 east coast - 1 west coast - couple other countries.... like that. just basically say, ok... anything that was in a set list for the tour is out the window! no every breath, no roxanne....
just for fun... not for the masses....
i'm staying in a hotel after the boston show, so i'd love to meet some people after the show at a bar or something! i don't have to beat traffic that night! looking forward to that show most of all...

Heh! I paid out the a$$ for fifth row, pr...bought my tix on one of the Ticketbastard auctions. I think I'm in 15th row the first night. Then in St. Louis I'm in the 8th row on Andy's side - thank you, fan club!

we can just keep dreaming for that! i would absolutely freak if that ever happened. it would be hard to keep off medication... i'd have to keep nitro pills in my pocket. 
i was seriously thinking about shelling out the bucks for some really great seats at the philly show (home), but that would just be insane. i already bought 2 gold seat packages and i would be seeing 3 shows in a 2 week span. if they were more spread out, i would do it, but it's just silly. my husband is already on my ass for the other shows... i'm actually flying to boston and staying 2 nights in a hotel! hehe... can't wait!

Or how about a series of "intimate" Unplugged sets next year during the second leg of the tour just open for sale to paying fan club members like the fan club show in Vancover except only 500 seats for each show. If they do record an album during their Unplugged show next month, they could do this to support its release, say a show in each of the top 15 or 20 cities in the US. I wonder if anyone has any idea how many paying members there are in the fan club anyway?
