Well, first, this is a random person's blog... not a "review" per se, but more a story of one guy's experience. And that's fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and in the day of the Internet, everyone feels entitled to also *publish* their opinion.
The real deal is, as has been mentioned, time goes by and things change. And thank the gods for that! The world would be pretty boring if everything remained static over the course of time.
From my personal perspective, no more or less qualified than the guy who wrote this blog entry, I loved the subtle changes that the Police have done in the arrangements of the songs. I was enthralled to see where they'd take these tunes, and they didn't let me down for one millisecond of the show.
One caveat: I saw them in an arena, not in a stadium. I am not a fan of stadium shows... it's all the more difficult to impart any intimacy to your audience. So, I do understand that some people who see shows in Oakland (or coming up at Dodger Stadium here in my hometown) might have less of a thrilling experience than I did. 17,000 people is a great crowd; 55,000 people is a small city.
