Stewart Copeland Snare Drum

Glad y'all like the snare. Don't go paying six hundred dollars for it though, it retails for somewhere under $300. TAMA keeps making them so there are plenty of them out there in the shops. It took us years to figure out, but it really is a cool drum.

Of course like everyone else on these boards, you are my drumming idol! Such an inspiration for so many things! I just wanted to say hi, thanks for everything you do, thanks for picking up the sticks again and re-inspiring me and others, and just being so f-ing cool!
If only I was old enough back in 82 when you played the cap center in DC. My aunt Pat was one of the backup singers for that show, and my family got to meet you and the rest of the band. I however wasn't old enough to go. :(
But that's okay- maybe we'll meet one day!
If you happened to listen to those songs from my last band- hope you like the drumming! :D

Yes, the snare was expensive (in Canada) but very worth it....really cuts through the "dirge" of my loud three piece band.

In Canada everything is costly, now I want to upgrade my 20 year old Superstars to Starclassic maples...just four drums are going to cost me over $3000.00 (kik,tom 1, tom 2 , tom 3). They really are beautiful.

Check your "IN" box at your management company, I sent you my CD and Mr Power says he got it.

Thanks again for making your snare available...and of course for the refreshing original music for the last 20 odd years.

I haven't had a chance to try the snare drum but over in my parts I've ehard nothing but good things about it.It sort of resembles my Mapex snare in shape and sound.I have mine tuned very tight and it cuts through anything my band can muster up.I definitely want to look into to getting one though.

Yes "The Pessimist" definitely has some great Copelandish fills in their.I'm gonna burn that on my mixed cd if you don't mind.What's the name of your band?

It re-energized my playing. The snare is very "alive" sounding. Now I have added a new ride cymbal (Paiste 2002 22 inch Wild Ride) really fantastic! I can't afford a new kit right now so I'm just building up around me so one day when I do get a new Tama Maple set...it will be perfect.

I'm practicing my ass off!!! the traditional grip is finally coming along after months of stress!!!

Wisermind was the name- we've since broken up, plus I moved from Maryland to Houston! So unfortunately we play no more. Which sucks cause my bass player and I really were on the same page. It's something I've never had musically before. I hope to get it again in here in my new town!
Check out some of the other songs too- Front to Back, And You'd Say, and Blinders were always big favs of mine to play. :D

I was reading your posts from last year. I've had the Copeland snare for almost five years and I've used it exclusively ever since I bought it. I love the sound. It's got that crack, but with a lot of warmth behind it. I don't crank the head up as high as most people who have it (IMHO, I don't think Stewart does anymore, either!) and it still sounds great. It records so well. My only complaint is that it weighs a ton! Seriously, this drum reminds me of my beloved Ludwig 5x14 Supraphonic 400 - but on steroids!
