Seeking help re: police.com - videos failing

if anyone can help i would be grateful, as the help section is extremely limited at the police.com

i have a membership - have logged in - tried to view rehearsals video, and this message comes up in the player window:

and there is nothing but vacant blackness below. i am logged in. the site is asking for me to .... log in.

i have tried using safari, mozilla, firefox and ie. the problem is consistent.

can any one help....??

My advise give it a day.

The other day when you tried to see the tour it send you to another site.

Maybe it another problem. I can't help you other wise because I can't join because I only have visa. That is my suggestion.

Make sure you've got all the latest Quicktime, windows media etc updates installed.

It's the thing that drives me nuttiest about video on the web -- if you don't upgrade your software what feels like every other day, nothing works!

cheers, but it's not my system. the videos were working last week. still not working -i'm logged in, and the 'player' is asking me to.... well, to log in. with nothing but black space beneath the request for me to.... log in.

anyone? please? the site offers no technical support at all for this issue. none.

ps sockii - i sent you a mail during the week..... :)

I have just tested mine, and I have no problem (well, except the "Vancouver opening night" video they still haven't converted in any other format than Windows Media, but thanks to Philip I've been able to watch it)...
Do you still meet the same?

it's still refusing to recognise that i have logged in.
video links lead to a black window asking for my login and password, over and over and over and over and over again. this is driving me nuts. i've deleted cookies. restarted. used 4 different browsers. same prob all round. i'll send a live police recording from my website at tj7.org/police.html, to anyone who can offer help leading to this annoying problem being fixed.....

they haven't responded in 5 days. is anyone else in the world having this problem where the site refuses to acknowledge i am logged in and won't let me see the videos? or am i the only one....?

Have you tried in both sections? "Multimedia" & "Virtual tickets"?
And can you post on the restricted members section of the TP.com Forum?

yep. both sections. i can use the forums, no probs. i can look at my own account. and yet, despite having my account right in front of me, i can't see any videos - because - the thing keeps asking me to log in again - but provides only a black box.

Are all your browser security updates, well...up to date?

It's like I was having problems logging in to this site for months except via Safari, and I did update some things on my computer last week and now I seem able to log in via Firefox and stay logged in.

That's the only last thing I can think of...

at least two of the browsers i tried are up to date, and strangely, i HAVE been able to access some videos a week or so ago. i don't know what changed. will have to wait for support to mail back.....

Are you having any other problems with your Mac (if that's what you're using)? I had other issues with my Mac recently in which certain programs, including Quicktime, wouldn't run because the permissions got screwed up after a security upgrade. I tried booting to the install disk and tried using the disk utility to repair the disk permissions on the hard drive, but it always aborted in failure. The only way I could get around the problem was doing a clean install. After I did that and installed all the security updates, everything worked great and continues to do so now.

i do use a mac, and i haven't changed any settings or installed any upgrades. but yes, it's possible there is a strange issue with this machine and i need to work out what it is, if so.....

Yeah, something as simple as an unclean shutdown could corrupt a critical file, especially if it was open and being accessed by the filesystem at the time.
