Wow, I come home from work and all these great replies. Thanks for making me feel welcome. Really cool to see how global this forum is. Question, I set my avatar up, as far as I can tell I did it correctly, but it's not showing up. Am I doing something wrong? Help please.

Everyone has this problem - you have to link to an off-site location, like photobucket.com or flickr.com - give it a try that way

Hi everyone, another n00bie here at Stewieland.

A brief introduction: from 1982-1985, the Police was the band that meant EVERYTHING to me. My walls were covered with posters of the band as a teenager. I saw the Synchronicity tour here in Los Angeles in 1983. I'd pretty much accepted that I'd never hear them again, and seeing them with my girlfriend on June 6 in Seattle was indeed a dream come true for me, even now at age 38. :)

I am, by the way, a HUGE fan of Stewart, who might rank at the top of my slightly obsessive list of the best drummers ever. I am a lifelong musician and have all the respect in the world for him in regard to his performaing and composing chops. When I was 15, I named a pet turtle after him (it's true, it's true). He has always been my favorite Police-man, and it's great to meet fellow people who appreciate him.

Welcome aboard, Jeff

When I was a teenager back in the mid 80's, I thought there were only a few select group of people who appreciated Stewart's brilliance. If only we'd had the internet back then...

I love it that people are continuing to discover Gio's wonderful site due to the reunion tour.

Plus I think the sturm und drang from earlier this week had a great side effect: tons of new cool people clicked on the link in all the articles trashing Stewart and saw that - not only did he not say anything bad about the reunion tour in general - but his website is awesome.

Woohoo! More cool music fans to talk to!
On Google - site:stewartcopeland.net "your keyword here" - thanks DM!!

Yes, it was the tour that made me start seeking out more Police-oriented fourms. This was the best one I saw out there.

Regarding the press coverage of Stew's Vancouver review that has brought people here, I can't see how anyone who knew anything about the band wasn't laughing their respective asses off, even at the initial AP report. Its tone was CLASSIC Stewart... made me look forward to my Seattle show all the more. :)
