Post your Pesky Forum Issues!!

Well considering our Italian hero's that keep this awesome place going have been doing some tweaks, and reading a few recent comments about some bugs, I figured it may be nice for them to have a list of the pesky little things we run into here.

*Admins by all means remove this thread if you don't feel it's necessary at this time/are planning to make your own!! I don't want to step on any toes, just want to help get the info back to you guys in a concise manner!*

So please post just a simple sentence or two about what it is you have trouble with. For consistency's sake, Please preface it with four dashes.

----BB code- I love smilies just as much as the next guy, but I really really miss the fact that I can't bold or italicize, or add in images/html by using the standard BB code [b][/b] [i][/i] [img][/img] and all the other little things like that that can be done in every other phpBB out there. Any plans to implement?

----PM's! I want my private messages!! :(

----Quotes not showing up as quoted text, part of the above BBcode. That can make reading through posts confusing, especially when multiple quotes are in a person's post- hard to determine that person's response.

If these are too much to do so I am totally cool with that. After all- this is a free thing you guys are doing for us, and we all really appreciate it!! I'm just curious if those types of fixes are in store for us in the future, as well as any other little things others may have run into.
:)

Good idea, Anthony!

Again, major thanks and appreciation to the website crew to begin with. These are all minor things that certainly do not deter me from participating but would make things a little easier, I think.

- LOGIN PROBLEMS. As I mentioned in the other thread, I am unable to log into the board successfully using my default web-brower, Firefox. I can log in using Safari and Internet Explorer. For specific's sake, I am a Mac user running on System 10.3.9, and the latest version of Firefox. This has been a running problem for me for several months, at least.

- BBcode. Like Spec A, would love to see this turned back on, because the [quote][/quote] [i][/i] etc stuff can be hard to follow and keep straight.

I'm not sure I'm keen on turning Private Messaging on, unless there is a way to opt-out as a user of the system. Folks who are open to off-board discussion can already list their email address available. And I could just see STEWART's account getting bombarded with PMs that might not be all that welcome if it was turned on without the user's choice...

I've never had a problem logging onto here on my Mac using 10.3.9 and the latest firefox. However I set it up to remember me and my password so maybe that has something to do with it (yeah, I know it's not the best thing to do security wise).

As far as pming, with the spambots and everything, it's probably better to leave it disabled in my opinion.

No problems for me in 10.4.8 either.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Greasemonkey's about it, I'm not technie enough to muck around with my computer and browsers too much.

Though of course, wouldn't you know as soon as I posted that earlier today, now Firefox is letting me log in. At least for the moment. :?: Oh well, it must just be something weird on my end...
