Check out Roxanne from Seattle date 1 on youtube. Stewart FLYS thorugh the verse. Sting turns around and gives stew the Look of Death! The police of old is truly back.

I know about you, but I like these songs FAST. Now all stew has to do is speed up the rest of them.
how's about linking to it, fella - none of us can see a look o' death anywhere.... ;)

Very interesting stuff going on in that video. Looked to me like Andy started it off nice and fast and sort of looked at the others, or maybe Stewart, with a grin and was saying something like "is this too fast?". Then when Sting gets to "you don't have to put on the red light", he points back and forth at Andy and Stewart. So clearly there is some kind of communication going on regarding tempo...

As for the jamming, there is a hint of a return to form. They still sound like they're in their own respective worlds to some extent instead of listening to each other when they're improvising...but that is definitely a step in the right direction. A slight hiccup getting back to the pre-chorus, and I reiterate my belief that Sting should grab a pick. Nevertheless, that sounds like a step back into the groove.

Frankly, I think a lot of it is that they're all three a bit rusty chops-wise. Got to get out the WD-40 and loosen up the frozen joints.

Wow! I caved into temptation and watched that. That was awesome! It seems they're getting ready for Bonnaroo. Man, I wish I could go to that! I hope by the time I see them in Phoenix they're doing improv on "Beds Too Big".

Yeah, the transition wasn't exactly smooth, but that certainly doesn't bother me cuz of what came before. THAT is what LIVE is all about. Amidst the chaos, beauty.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

It was definately Andy that started it off too fast IMO. Stew was the one who kept it together. Jeez, they're sounding awesome though! Can't wait for them to get down here to Oz early next year - they'll be WELL tight by that stage..

Andy is looking quite well. Lost a lot of weight between the announcement and the start of the tour. Got to give him credit. As for his tempo for Roxanne being "too fast"--not in my book. To me, that's more like it.

There is an upside to playing fast for Sting--it makes it easier on him as a singer, because you don't have to hold those notes as long.
