Police Tour Merchandise...What's it like?

Postby sockii on 06 Jun 2007 12:34
I bought that green checked shirt off TPT and it's cute as can be but runs small. I may send it back...it fits but is mildly vulgar. ;)
Ha ha, yes, you're right on that. Small and a little heavyweight for my taste...I may save that one for beach/pool wear when I need a cover-up.

The brown ladies t-shirt from the tpt.com store looks/fits good but is the opposite durability-wise. Super, super flimsy. I'll be surprised if it lasts out the year for me. I think I'll wait for the concerts before buying any more t's (unless we get anymore here in the Krypton store, hint hint, those fit great and seem built to last a while...

It's been said before...

...I love the army stuff.

When I was a punk kid listening to the Police I always had my trusty army jacket. Sadly long gone.

Now I can get a spiffy one with a hat...and Police logo's!

Fadiddlyastic !!!!

In the europe part of the store there's only 2 shirts and neither of them is even half as cute as the green checkerboard one.

What brand t-shirts

Postby Jennythenipper on 06 Jun 2007 21:48

Does anyone know what brand the t-shirts are (especially kelly green checkerboard) so that I can find out a size chart. They kinda look like American Apparel.

Also anyword as to fit/quality of the stripe brush art shirt.

I really can't make up my mind. I want the military jacket too. And the hat.
I must say that the stuff seems to be worth its price. At least this is true about the things I bought. Got the t-shirts for the 1st night and 2nd/3rd combined with GMPlace motif.

Then an army cap with Ghost like THE POLICE logo and the army jacket with THE POLICE logo and stripes. Very good quality. The army jacket was about 125 CAN$. Would have cost the same in any German shop! And it's not cheap material, really good stuff.

Can't speak for all the more expensive jackets, but too good I only wanted the army one!

Man, Dietmar...you got the whole damn place covered in your Police knowledge! Thanks for the info and thanks for saving us a few pieces of merchandise! :D

Ok, so I saw the army jacket.

125 for that is absolutely insane! Who stitched it together - frank sinatra?

esp. when you can make your own for about 30 bucks.

125 - man, that's sad.

Proably will still pick up a poster and t shirt though :)

125 CAN$ is not too much where I live - as I said it would cost about the same in any store here

or you want some children in India to make it for you

Actually it depends on what you want. I thought the army Jackets were no longer the style, but the legionnare type hats were excellent! The green shirt was ugly--who wears green?! The mug was a rip, with a cheesy logo on it. The passes were kind of cool. I ended up with the band picture shirt (of them in action), not the synchronicity yellow, blue, red one (the faces on that one were awful, not very good drawings of the guys, didn't look like them very much). The band in action one I got was an older image of the Police but at least, unlike the new arrangements, it reminded of the energy I THOUGHT we were going to see at the show. It had all the dates on the reverse. The Vancouver venue one was tacky, the imagine wasn't really accurate of GM PLace and most would rather have the band on the shirt. Other than that, yes everything was pricey, but most shows are now. They will make double what they do at the gate on Merch. Hey, I bet not many have the sneaker Laces I have from 1981? LOL. They are cool, still in the package. Have fun concert goers, don't expect the old style of the Police and you will still have a blast! Otherwise, I actually saw a few people sit down and look bored stubbornly, rather than just have fun!

Poor Dietmar. Where I live there is e a magical place called "Ragstock" that sells army surplus (usually German, pre-unification era) for dirt cheap. You can get a jacket like that for $20 or so. But I saw some crazy expensive prices on surplus items in the UK, so I believe it. I think you can get a jumpsuit like the one Sting wore continuously in the early footage of "Everyone Stares" for under $50. Hey maybe that's what I'll wear to the concert.

or perhaps some not children but peruvian guy... here I know a place who export legal clothes for recognized labels like "Armani Collection", "YSL", "Guess", "Tommy Hilfinger", "Benetton", "Sysley", etc. and the ones have have little errors sell it, also here exist another place who imitates exactly the ones legal retails and more labels like "Abercrombie", "Oscar de la Renta", Dolce & Gabanna" and all made by peruvians textil fabricants from black market who compete with imitations come from China, the big difference is that peruvian cotton is one of the best of entire world and finally peruvian ones are best 8)

On the merchandise subject, two comments/questions from me:

1. Could we please have at least ONE t-shirt with recent pics of the guys?! C'mon, let's show the world that this is not just a nostalgia tour by showing them up there as they are TODAY, not 25-30 years ago (the picture in Philip's avatar, for one, would be PERFECT in a t-shirt (if they just photoshopped Stewart up a little more prominently :D )

2. The program book - while I'm sure I'll shell out the money for it, is there much worthwhile for a printed-matter junkie like me? That is, are there any new/previously unseen/cool photos in it, or just a lot of the standard shots we've seen over and over again already...
