Police Tour Merchandise...What's it like?

Postby cpriddims on 06 Jun 2007 00:48

Just wondered if you guys who have been to the shows know what the merch is like that they are selling. How much is this going to cost me? I just pray it is a better selection than at TPT!

Anyway, if you know a link where to see the goods let me know! Thanks.

Trust me, it's quite nice. DON'T let the stuff in the "store" section of TP.com scare you. The stuff at the merch booths is WAY better. Start saving your pennies now, though. It ain't cheap. ($40 CDN for T-shirts, $25 CDN for a tour program. I don't go to too many of the big-level rock concerts anymore these days, so it might be par for the course for all I know, but again it ain't cheap.)

At the Broken Music shows they had a really cool long sleeve shirt. However, it was 75 bucks I think. I asked one of the vendors what the hell was it made out of - cocaine? What a rip off. 40 bucks for a shirt is pretty bad too.

Too bad there probably won't be any police shirts in the lot at Bonnaroo.

Hey Duke, there will definitely be a few Police shirts at 'Roo. Dunno if you've been before and don't want to insult you, but...they have a big sales shack with merch from just about everybody who plays the fest. Thing is, tho - get there early as you can on Saturday, because the stuff is put out for each band according to the day they play and The Police stuff will sell out *fast*.

Also, buy a 'Roo shirt the first day if you want one. They also almost always sell out by Sunday.

This ain't my first rodeo ese. :)

I went to the first three and this one will be my fourth. First was great but a bit of a clusterfuck getting in. We were in line 12 hours. It's gotten better every year though.

Not a big fan of the offical shirts as they are way to pricey. I prefer shirts that you buy in the lot (mostly fan designed).

Back in the day, I'd come back from g. dead concerts with a whole new wardrobe.

I thought about making some police shirts and vending this year but it's a bit of a hassle.

The spread of loot at the Vancouver shows was extensive and expensive. T-shirts start at around $40 but some nice stuff too. As a printer I can vouch for the programs as being quite well done, good quality printed product and at $25 each it better be.

They're putting cooler stuff up. I love the hoodie, and the green checkered one. But they cost a fortune.

The Krypton Store.

We've already appealed to Gio to get more stuff. He says they've got some cool things in the works.

I bought that green checked shirt off TPT and it's cute as can be but runs small. I may send it back...it fits but is mildly vulgar. ;)

Shows off a bit to much? lol I can't decide if I should order now, or get the stuff at the show to save on shipping.

most of the tshirts are $40 & very nice. There was an exclusive one night only tshirt for the fan club gig which i got. There is one tshirt with some sequins on a Police badge which goes for $90. Posters are just $10 but all 5 or 6 of them feature band photos from 25 years ago! None of them have recent pics however. They have tour jackets that will burn up your credit card.

Yeah Lollapalooza always has merch tents towards the front. The shirts usually cheaper than on tour, though I never buy band shirts anymore.

I saw the Chili Peppers last year and the shirt was more expensive than the damn show.

So stupid. I bought a poster.

I must say that the stuff seems to be worth its price. At least this is true about the things I bought. Got the t-shirts for the 1st night and 2nd/3rd combined with GMPlace motif.

Then an army cap with Ghost like THE POLICE logo and the army jacket with THE POLICE logo and stripes. Very good quality. The army jacket was about 125 CAN$. Would have cost the same in any German shop! And it's not cheap material, really good stuff.

Can't speak for all the more expensive jackets, but too good I only wanted the army one!
