I just bought the July 2007 i#133 issue of DRUM Magazine and guess who is on the cover with a cheshire-cat type of grin with his drum set. It's a great interview with a cool timeline of his career and a cool selected discography that even goes into some more obscure stuff. There is a cool, color-coded diagram of his latest set-up. It appears that this interviewed occurred around the time they were rehearsing in Vancouver.

I just picked up my copy today... really good article. Re: new music, he mentions that the reason he's not confirming anything is that he's waiting to see if Sting comes up with anything, and he refuses to pressure Sting to start writing anything new. Basically the whole "All we know is that we're gonna have a blast for a year and so far that's it" thing is a pretty good way of keeping everything light and mellow and easy-going, without the pressure of looking forward (or dreading) going back into the studio. From what I read, he refuses to say that they intend to come up with any new music, but he never fully "shuts the door" on the prospect.

"This year, we're playing as The Police and that's all we have to worry about. This band is going to be way stronger than it ever was before. We are in a whole new place now, and those songs that we have to play, those are great songs. So, new material? I don't know. New Police? Absof**kinglutely."

Ive noticed from the pictures its the coloursound ride, and it says in the listings about the dark metal ride. So far ive seen the dark metal ride feature in the tuscany rehersals and the coloursound in the vancouver rehersals from the videos of the official site.
