Let your Team Copeland Flag fly!!! (Flag-Bearers wanted.)

Postby Rusty James on 04 Jun 2007 16:45

Prior to our hometown hockey team being trounced by the less than mightly what-its-ducks of disneyland; almost every car in Vancouver had a Canucks flag (or two or four) on it. I would love to get a version of this Copelandia flag for my car for year-round displaying :!:

I think this is a good idea about the cloth being added for strength and bleedlessness (new word for the day).

I can help people in London on 9th Sept
Cardiff 19th October and
Toronto on 8th Novemeber.

I think you have people to carry it for all those dates but I'd be proud to stand beside them!!!

Thanks for the ideas but no time, I'm afraid. I leave for CA at the end of the week and as it is, I may not even be able to get it to Denver in time.

The broadcloth is doubled-over, so although Sharpie bleeds thru the one level, it shouldn't bleed through the front -- as long as people sign quickly and don't linger, it should be fine. (And if it does, shit happens.)
Also, all flag bearers need to email their postal addresses to someone so a list can be compiled. I'm thinking that some dates will be too close together for us to mail in time and we run the risk of the flag getting lost if we send to anywhere other than people's home addresses. What do you think DM? Is this turning into a logistical poohole?!
As the last question goes, yes.

But as for the rest, I'm already on it. (Still waiting for YOUR info, Hx. :P ) Like I said, it can't be everywhere. I'm scheduling it so that it has time to travel between places -- plus I have to work around holidays and Sundays -- which means that it just cannot be everywhere. It won't be a perfect system, but it'll be something.

Bella, not sure if there will be time for it to make it to Dodgers, but I will let you know.

I appreciate and love all the enthusiasm! You guys are awesome, and I thank you. Just everyone please keep in mind that I can only do so much.

Crap.

Sockii and nancyrose! The flag may not be able to get from Philly to Toronto fast enough (since the Philly show is Thursday night and the Toronto show is Sunday).

Nancyrose, when do you leave for TO? And is there any service that will deliver via overnight on a SATURDAY? (Cuz the only way to do it is if sockii mails it out on Friday to arrive on Saturday.)

Otherwise, we're going to have to sacrifice one of those locations.

Shoot! I leave Friday (road trip!).

Don't know how you feel about having it sent to me in Toronto but I could vouch for the friend I'm meeting up there. It could also be sent to me c/o the hotel...I've done that with things in the past. But I totally understand if doing that makes you feel queasy....

It's your call...you get to be "the decider!"

Actually, yeah -- as Decider, I'm about to become Flag Angel of Death.

Apologies, kids, but because of timing and weekends (stupid weekends), I'm going to have to sacrifice Philly, Dallas, and St. Louis. Too many shows stacked together, I'm afraid. Believe me -- I'd love to cover all these bases, but it's simply a matter of physical possibility and numbers. I'm trying to reach as many people as possible, so please understand and feel free to burn me effigy. (Mardee, I'll find a way to get your sig.)

GINA! When do you leave for Amsterdam. Cuz if the flag leaves London 9/10 . . .

22nd of September Munich and 10th of October Mannheim.
I think the Munich date will see quiet a few people from Asia etc.
So I would fly it there - if Dietmar doesn't want to do other dates - he has older rights on here.
Actually I try to make a deal with Dietmar that he takes care of the two German dates I don't go to, I don't want Stewart to be too distracted .. :D
That would fill the gap between Amsterdam and Turino - Giovanni didn't you say you come to Munich as well?

I will organzie a little pre-gig-meeting for friends of mine from all over the place in Munich. If any SC.net people want to join you are more then welcome. I will post it in a seperate thread later this year.

Thanks, phaty.

Will anyone (who wants to volunteer) be attending both London AND Amsterdam by any chance?

GIOVANNI, will you be attending Munich? In which case, I can have phaty hand you the flag in person to take with you to Turin.

(In-person delivery is ALWAYS better than trusting the mail.)

Can I throw a monkey wrench into the works?
First, are you going to V-Fest Kel? If so, perhaps sockii could forego taking it to MSG on 8/1 and 8/3 and Skip can send it to me after Boston.
Then I could give to you after V-Fest on 8/4 to take back to NJ for Giants Stad, 8/5.
Sockii would get it back for MSG on 10/31.
Stewart and Stanley together again!! YO!

Sorry, SS -- no go. I probably won't be at Virgin, and there are far more people attending the MSG shows than Balto. I've already had to drop Philly, but I did so cuz I can probably get most of the Philly folks at the MSG shows.

July 4th makes Chicago nearly impossible, so at this point, the only other date in the next couple of months that I could accomodate would be Miami -- and that would require a very fast turnaround. Otherwise, the first leg of the US is pretty much set.

I can do Cardiff in October (and help hannah if her arms get tired in London) - although I'm way up in the gods so if there's anyone down at pitch level they might be a better choice. I'm also just about to move house - so if this awesome responsibility does fall to me, I'll get you new contact details in a couple of weeks :)

kate
Hi Kate, I'm down on pitch level for sunday but kind of high up at the side on saturday. So if anyone is pitch level on saturday they can take the flag. I'll use it to gather everyone at the pub before the shows as well!
Hi Hannah,

I'm in row 11 in front of Andy on the pitch on Saturday and I'd be proud as punch to wave the flag :D

Lol, Helen xx

Hi phaty!

I will go to Munich too, so can I participate in writing name on the back
of the flag (sooo great!) ?
of course my seat is diffrent from you and others so we'll have to meet
somewhere before the show. I think GIO would be in Munich, too.

Yay! I'm so excited that we'll have at least one of our Tokyo Sisters represented!

Guys, since the board will be going down, I will email the mailing schedule for June to the pertinent folks. But once it's back up, I'll have it posted here as well.

Divemistress, Bella, Spec A!, and Gina, you guys are the first up.

Thank you, and thank you all for your help!!!
