Let your Team Copeland Flag fly!!! (Flag-Bearers wanted.)

Postby samburusunset on 04 Jun 2007 02:35

My turn! My turn!! I'll do Hershey on 7/20. I can do Virgin Fest on 8/4, too :D

How do we get the flag transfered for the shows that are on consecutive nights in different cities? Sockii will take it to the Philly show on 7/19. How am I going to take it to Hershey on 7/20? Without do a pony express, I mean. (Although that would be kind of appropriate :) )

Hm....do we know anybody with the crew who could cart it on that date?

I'm going to Dallas, too, but I'll mail it to Gina so she'll have it to fondle for a few days beforehand...;)

Dive, my nerves would really appreciate a physical hand-off to Gina in Dallas, if that's all right. I fear this little ol' project may just kill me slowly.

SS, that's the one problem -- consecutive nights can only happen if someone can physically deliver the flag personally. So unless there's someone who volunteers who will be at both Philly AND Hershey, for example, it'll have to skip a stop. (Same goes for Virgin, since I'll have it the day before.)

If anyone will be attending consecutive nights like that -- or if there is an overwhelming number of Copelanders in one place vs. another (such as Roo) -- I'll try to maneuver stuff. But like I said, it's just not possible for the flag to get everywhere. I'm afraid I can't work outside the limitations of time and space. (I may be good, but I'm not THAT good.)

Latest List of Flag-Bearers:

5/27 & 5/28 - Vancouver (done!)
6/9 - Denver (jydsker)
6/16 - Bonnaroo (Divemistress)
6/26 & 6/27 - Dallas (Divemistress & GinaSuperCat)
6/29 - Houston (Spec A! & GinaSuperCat)
6/30 - New Orleans (GinaSuperCat)
7/2 - St. Louis (mardee)
7/16 - Cleveland (DirtyMartini, nancyrose, GinaSuperCat)
7/19 - Philadelphia (sockii)
7/22? 7/23? - Toronto (nancyrose)
7/28? 7/29? - Boston (Skip)
8/3 - MSG (DirtyMartini)
8/5 - Giants (DirtyMartini)
9/8 & 9/9 - London (Hannah & dafttart)
9/13 & 9/14 - Amsterdam (GinaSuperCat)
10/2 - Turin (Giovanni)
10/31 - MSG (DirtyMartini)

BTW, you people make me fly.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

IF, and I say IF in a 'when pigs fly' sort of way, I win the TPT first row contest for Philly I could take it from sockii for Hershey the next day.

Don't remember what you've decided about V-Fest. If you don't do that I won't be able to get it then either.

That would BLOW. Because, well, it would blow and because I was the first Copelander (besides yourself) to see the durn thing! We should have started signing in YVR. D'oh!

(Maybe it's time to get out my Nimbus 2000. )

I had had the thought to get the flag signed back in YVR, but we all just got kinda preoccupied with other stuff.

Sorry, SS -- I'm doing the best that I can. But no there's no excel spreadsheet (*cough*dork*cough*) out there that can help me alter time.

At the very least, you'll sign it somehow.

Hehe, I haven't checked this thread in a while...wow, this thing will travel <wooot!>

There are several of us that will be in Dallas so it will be well-protected! Dive you don't have to send it to me, you can just keep it from Roo (if it doesn't have any other stops between). I'll be the official courier transporting the flag from Dallas to Houston (since I need to transport my ass that way anyhow <grin>)...Anthony, I'd surely want you to be the bearer for the Houston show (I will have more than enough opportunities as is <grin>) just make sure to get it to me at the end of the show so I can take it to New Orleans! I was just volunteering for the shows I was going to be at just to make sure it was covered...I'd rather see more people get to wave it!

For Amsterdam I can make sure that someone gets the flag for the European leg, as well...

DM: let me know if there is anything I can help with in figuring out all this...I'm sure you've got excel working overtime already! <grin>

Wow! I'm mega-chuffed to see this coming together!

I've just had a thought re the signing of the back. How about tacking a piece of white fabric over the back to sign. Something sturdy like canvas so it won't bleed through to the front and spoil our lovely horse.

Also, all flag bearers need to email their postal addresses to someone so a list can be compiled. I'm thinking that some dates will be too close together for us to mail in time and we run the risk of the flag getting lost if we send to anywhere other than people's home addresses. What do you think DM? Is this turning into a logistical poohole?!

I can do Cardiff in October (and help hannah if her arms get tired in London) - although I'm way up in the gods so if there's anyone down at pitch level they might be a better choice. I'm also just about to move house - so if this awesome responsibility does fall to me, I'll get you new contact details in a couple of weeks :)

Hi Kate, I'm down on pitch level for sunday but kind of high up at the side on saturday. So if anyone is pitch level on saturday they can take the flag. I'll use it to gather everyone at the pub before the shows as well!

Hi BongoBoy! I'm at the July 22 show...is that when you'll be there too? There's a pre-show party planned at the Hard Rock Cafe from about 4pm on, and it seems many people are planning to be there. Does that work for you? If we can get a sense that there's a good number from this site planing to attend the HR get-together I can scope out a table and hoist the flag as a centerpiece. Otherwise, I'll send you my cell # as we get closer to the date.

I can see how this could definitely bring out the anal-retentive planning gene in some of us...thanks for that, Kel!
