THE POLICE / Vancouver / May 30 Show -- How was it?!?

Wow, I really like the view from behind the stage where you can see all their equipment. I would like to see at least one show on this tour from that perspective.

Yowch! Heh. "It's a bad way" indeed.

I'll be forever sad that I missed this show.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

I know, I'm kind of glad I have behind the stage for 8/3 now, though I wish it was a little further down. Oh well. I may try for a pair of "cheap seats" for another show and try to get something lower in the back. Definitely looks like a good vantage point for watching the drumming action!

Your link won't work, con. No worries - I'll still drive the bus. Send me a screen capture of the map when you get a minute.
On Google - site:stewartcopeland.net "your keyword here" - thanks DM!!

After taking the day easy (the travelling finally caught up with me today <grin>), I worked out some of the new itineraries...

I think I'll take the bus from Cola to Dallas, get two cheap tickets for Dallas, take bus to Houston for the 29th, and then stop in New Orleans on the way back for the show on the 30th.

Hubby wasn't ecstatic to go to Tampa so he suggested I put up our tickets for sale on TPT so I could get cheap ones to these 4 shows instead, since he knows I'm beyond all hope <grin>...I think he's holding out for a nice weekend in Atlanta or a closer show like Charlotte in the fall, especially since we will be both back on salary then and will go for floor <grin>

Was looking at hotel prices in N.O. and it was shocking how cheap they were, usually I'm such a proud budget person but I couldn't help feeling a pang in my heart...

Laff, how did the Vancouver 30-5 show thread become the Dallas/GSC travel plans thread? <grin>
Hi Martini!
I do believe that a recording exists but I'll let the person responsible contact you...

I'm still obsessing about Wednesday night and I believe it's because I saw the band in its raw form. Raw! Real! Unleashed! - just like the old days! (wish I was there) There was an air of desperation on stage, and in the audience too (or maybe it was just me). Near the end they all played as if their life depended on it - a hint of the punk. At one point I found myself screaming (not singing) along with Sting on Roxanne - a climax, if you will, to the song's crescendo. Truly one of my best rock experiences ever. Stewart's Next To You tornado counts as another best experience.

Monday's show was polished, tight, and beautifully executed, but Wednesday was the real deal. Like Dietmar commented the arrangements on Wednesday were more interesting, quite different from the other 2 shows. It was clear that I was at a live show, oh ya it was live alright!!
Damn! I thought two shows would hold me until July 20. :? Who knew the 30th would be the one to see?? Dang.

Merc - where were your seats for this one (as if you actually sat )?

Thanks again for showing us around your beautiful city. It was so much fun meeting you and all my other Friends in Stewart. I wish we could all meet up at ALL the shows!

SS
Stewart and Stanley together again!! YO!

my seat

Postby Mercury Rising on 03 Jun 2007 19:10

In standard fashion of my immense luck with seats in Vancouver, I was sitting in the 8th Row middle floor aisle on Wednesday night and then I rushed up to the stage in the end, for their final bows. Of course I was not sitting! How cool is it that I had better seats than John Mayer, Elvis Costello, Diana Krall, and Trudie! Not to brag, or anything...
