THE POLICE / Vancouver / May 30 Show -- How was it?!?
Gina check out the flights for Munich in September - might be cheaper and you can have frontrow moshpit and after the concert we go and beat up Dietmar while he collects Stings water bottles ... !
That made me laugh so hard Phaty - you are one cheeky German!
pssst gina...all the cool people are going to St. Louis...and Dallas...and Louisville...;)
Heh, I'm not signed up to the "cool people" list yet so I get the memos a little late <grin>

Ya, have already checked out Dallas (Greyhound is 50 bucks from here to there), Houston (bus = 13 bucks), N.Orleans (bus = 40 or so bucks) and back home (50 bucks)...I have already checked the schedules and have learned that I can time it with overnight busses from loc. to loc., eliminating the need for hotels almost entirely, with the exception of one or two nights...StubHub already has tix below face value right now (not brilliant seats, of course, but seats they are)...bring a blanket, a few outfits, and a stash of protein bars and I'd be road-worthy <grin>

Plus I just signed up for their discount/rewards program too <grin>

Hubby has already said Dallas may be a-ok...am I the luckiest gal or WHAT? HusbandofSuperCat (and spouses of many here) deserve their own appreciation thread!!!

see every concert you can, Gina. you would have regrets if you don't

I just saw the pictures in the news section. Should have thought of doing the hair clip thingy myself, but for obvious reasons that was just not possible ...

Never mind -- I see 'em.

Dietmar, I think you'd have looked lovely in the Synch colors. Or else it would have been my pleasure to paint the horse logo on your head.

And GSC, listen to our friend. I would kill to have more venues within a $20-$50 distance.
Mercury...thanks for your description, it leaves me in a fit that I couldn't stay...I know I'd have been screaming my head off too...electricity in the air...<faints>

At this point my hubby is looking very worried: he saw me pulling up the Greyhound schedules for Dallas and for NYC and just about everything else under a day's travel from here (we've since determined the dividing line as to what's acceptable length of a bus ride that I am allowed to take...the 3.5 days to vancouver was deinitely out <grin>)...he's a smart man and is scared, rightfully <grin>
I am so delighted to hear that you may be coming to Dallas now! It's going to be so fun, nearly as fun as Vancouver is what my gut is telling me and it's been right so far this year! If you happen to need a room, a few of us booked fantastic deals on Priceline a few weeks ago at the Doubletree near Market Center which isn't far from the AA arena (I thought I read the hotel has a shuttle to there from the hotel somewhere) for $55 a night plus taxes.

See you there!

I think I'm at the Hotel Lawrence, which is fairly near the venue...and I'll have wheels. Will volunteer to drive the carpool, tho (is this Doubletree hell and gone from the arena, con?)

Hey I didn't know so many were going to Dallas! Dietmar, you are wise (and crack me up): I couldn't ever imagine regretting going to a show but would sure regret missing one that could have been realistic to get to (of course 'realistic' is being reinterpreted in many creative ways lately)

Ummm, Dallas and Houston look big <grin>...trying to figure out where the Greyhound station is in relation to everything else like stadium and pub transportation...have like 45 windows up at once heh...Thanks for the heads-up on the hotel deals, too!

But like I said, if y'all ever see a username HusbandofSuperCat logged on be prepared for some ribbing about egging me on to even further heights of craziness <grin>

Heh. Yeah...Mr. Divemistress is looking forward to meeting folks at Bonnaroo, to discern clues about why I'm on here night and day. Y'all don't tell him the real story, that we're writing fan fiction about that guy from Reefer Madness...and we have an online bingo parlor and poker casino stashed away in the back room somewhere...;)

Here is the location of the Doubletree, not that far from the arena:

Haven't gotten to hear much of this show but seeing this video I can see what Stew was talking about...he F-ed up BAD on Roxanne. I think he had the version they did at the Grammys in his head, kicked into the chorus as Sting was starting to sing the second verse, and then just stopped for a second. Ouch.
