Welcome aboard! You don't live in Seattle and work for a major online retailer, do you? I have a friend with your somewhat unusual first name who does...

As you give fine smackdown, sockii, I look forward to reading your choice remarks.

Am I jealous, Larissa. I'm a big Oz rock fan. Just saw Tim Finn the other night (tho he's a Kiwi), but hub and I are dying to find out if Paul Kelly and the Hoodoo Gurus are touring this summer. Long story I'll bore you with sometime. Was just thinking about Bondi Beach this morning...sigh...

Perfectly said Sockii.

I can not believe how far it has got out of control and so out of context.

The Gurus just did SXSW and some shows in CA; not sure about a full tour, but you'll get no argument from me, they're fantastic live. And Paul Kelly is my favourite singing poet, he's our Dylan, no doubt about it.
And nicely done on the RS blog, ladies. I guess that's what you get when you resort to hiring your "journalists" via "reality television."

Hey guys here is the newest one,

Stewart Copeland's Police Joke
'Lame' Comment Not Real

Is Stewart Copeland jealous of Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton or is he just continuing to be the court jester?
That’s what people should be asking after he had an internet posting calling the Police’s reunion tour as lame.
The most anticipated tour of the summer has started off enviably. Ticket sales have been very strong. Many fans paying an extra hundred dollars or more for fan club memberships for the “privilege” of being able to buy tickets for the reunion shows this summer.
Reviews of the show have been positive in papers from USA Today to The Wall Street Journal. Frankly, the entire event is pretty “bullet-proof” because of pent-up demand.
Despite this, recent entertainment headlines have centered on a couple of non-talented women who have fame because of bad behavior.
Add this to the fact that the Police have added shows that have not sold out in minutes like the first round. Tickets were still available for an added Atlantic City show days after they went on the market. Was Copeland worried that the buzz had died from the tour?
There’s no better way to rekindle interest in the tour than to trash it from the inside. Call this a cynical interpretation of the blog, but if one takes a look back at how Copeland operates and you can see that this is a shrewd move to put the Police back on the front pages of more than just the entertainment section of newspapers and internet sites.

Good strategy!

Anyway I don´t think the next is true:

In my personal point of view, this couple is very talent.

I had the local ten o'clock news on in the background tonight and caught a quick segment of an entertainment news recap for the day (at around 10:48pm). They showed a clip from the Synchronicity Atlanta show and had the news anchor reading a gossip piece about Stewart's Internet comments. The anchor led the story off by saying that Stewart said about the tour: "Don't waste your money on this tour!." And then rifled off a few out of context quotes from the website post. The whole thing lasted less than a minute before moving on to Paris Hilton or some other nonsense. Just long enough for the Fox whores to make the story nice and ugly. And they seemed to relish every second of it.

This thing is starting to bend out of shape.

I know; it astounds me when the original text is RIGHT HERE FOR EVERYONE TO SEE. IN ITS ORIGINAL CONTEXT.
Don't journos actually research their subject anymore? Bloody hell, it's infuriating. :x

They don't at all: they just pick the news they find on Reuters or other agencies and re-write them for their own press service. Of course, they NEVER check the information. Why should they? It would cause them to work more and maybe to start to think.

And I'm pretty sure they do the same with the 'important' news: politic, financial, international... True journalists are now a threatened species and should be added to the IUCN Red List before they completely extinct. Soon "they (will) live in the museum, it's the only place you (will) see them".

It's the same here in France, maybe worse: 85% of the press medias belong to close friends of the President...
