*With glass held high* Cheers!

My thoughts go out to Copeland clan on this day.

Thanks for the link, nancyrose. It's a beautiful tribute to Ian. 8)

I agree with everyone else. I've got to see some amazing stuff in my life but I have to say the biggest thrill for me will probably always be the weekend I traveled to Phoenix and Tuscon Arizona a little over two years to hang out with Ian and the Dares as they embarked on their first road trip outside of the LA metro area not long before Ian fell ill. I'll never forget the kindness of Ian, Barbara, Joules, Don, Jim and Annie Peterson and the Dares, Gina Rossi and everyone else involved. As Chris just said, they made me feel like a true VIP. It was an even bigger thrill than meeting Stewart at the Rock and Roll HOF a little over a month after that or traveling to LA and not getting into the Whiskey (though that is probably the closest thing to it) back in February.

I've had the fortune of meeting a few other members of the Copeland clan and I have to say you can't find a nicer group of down to earth people in my opinion and I think Ian's presence had a lot to do with it and I know Ian's light will continue to shine through them and future generations.

Never forgotten for sure.

It just goes to show the impact one can have with a bright upbeat, give life a run for it's money, attitude.

I need to heed Ians ways in my own life.

It doesn't get much better leaving a legacy of cutting edge music and pure FUN !

Cheers to Ian the Leroy <clink>

All the best to the Copelands.

Hey policefan, don't be sorry!
The person next to Ian is bassist Mike Mills from R.E.M.
The picture is from Ian's book "wild Thing".

I will say agian: everyone should read Ian's book "Wild Thing."

It is a truely awesome and interesting memoir of his crazy life including his Middle East childhood, being a wild tennager in Beruit and London, serving in Viet Nam, getting into and rising in the music business.

A very well told tale that is interesting throughout. Better than any other rock memoir I have read (although the into is a little lame).

Ian, bless you for giving us such an account.

I don't think this was mentioned in the prior posts though I think this is implied: for the uninitiated, today (5-23-06) is the 2nd anniversary of Ian's untimely passing.

Gonna call an audible: No Cameroon jersey today in Vegas. I will be donning my Leroy Coolbreeze in tribute of Ian.
There is no bigger gong.
