I was not lucky enough to know Ian.
But I was lucky enough to know of him.

My best to you and your family today, Stewart. I am happy to see this past year end on such a high note.

Cheers, Ian!

I've been re-reading my copy of Wild Thing, and finding it hard to imagine all that energy and passion is no longer with us. I truly hope Ian is out there somewhere watching all this with a great big smile.

Don't know if anyone's seen this tribute, but today seemed an appropriate day to post it here:

Thanks for the link nancyrose. This is an awesome tribute to one hell of a guy. RIP Ian, our thoughts are with Stewart, family and friends.

I met Ian three times over the course of maybe 10 years. I don't think he remembered me from one meeting to the next but he was great to talk to every time. A really nice guy. The first time I met him was at an FBI party in Manhattan (a friend of mine was an agent there) and some guy was arguing with him about Stewart's prowess as a drummer! Needless to say I jumped right in to back Ian's point of view that Stewart is the best ever.

I know he was always really friendly and supportive of the fans. I wish I had ran in to him more often...

I was lucky enough to meet Ian and he truly made everyone feel like a VIP. Have a rum and coke in his honour.

"Cheers and regards" to the Copeland family on this particularly tough and emotional day.
