Stewart Article about Bonnaroo and Going Experimental

Stewart Article about Bonnaroo and Going Experimental

Postby GinaSuperCat on 22 May 2007 23:26

I totally understand & admire Gio's position and am not posting this to engage in the 'war of the news type' of mentality, but I have to pass this along since it so delighted me to see: a. Stewart speaks b. about Bonnaroo and c. about trying to convince Andy and Sting to be experimental there and d. they realization that many will go to several shows requiring variance...

<gasp...cheer...going to start Roo countdown thread...<grin>

To die for quote: "The kinetic ritual of it is really startling"

LOL. No, we're not. :D

>They're like the people who bought all the Oysterhead tickets because
>of Trey [Anastasio]. Those type of people, I think, buy more than one

>up a little bit."

Once again, Stewart gets it. Thank you!! Keeping my fingers crossed because I would definitely love to see some shakin' up of the set night to night (since I'm up to...5 shows at current count. Maybe more...)

Long live the King of Kinetic Ritual!

The wierd part is that I was just thinking about all of the possible post-show blogs nearly all of us will undoubtedly post (After all, we're not normal people!). It would kinda suck if we all read eachother's posts only to discover, "Okay, been there, done that."

Changing the set list would keep things fresh and would give all of us "field reporters" something new to read and write.

Am I overthinking this?

Stewart tells about us, definitely!

>not normal people
He praised the fans like this during his stay in Japan...

Thank you so much for telling us about a wonderful article, Gina.
That makes me smile.....

By the way, I have one question ;

>When the stakes are really high, we always come out of the box swinging

Will someone please tell me what does this phrase mean?

It means that when the pressure is on, that's when they perform at their best... I guess it's like a boxing metaphor or something...

HE'S TALKING ABOUT DOING SOMETHING AWESOME AT BONNAROO!!!

Oh my heavens. I just got all lightheaded...

Oh. Man. This is really happening....

(and I'm still in some other country, not at all sure I'm in one piece due to 14 hours of holding onto a 60-foot boat for dear life in gale force winds and 15-foot swells...)

Is this all an hallucination?? Or did I just read about something special Stewart's trying to set up AN HOUR FROM MY HOUSE, IN LESS THAN ONE MONTH?!

OK, that's it. I'm really passing out this time, guys. :) :) :)
On Google - site:stewartcopeland.net "your keyword here" - thanks DM!!
