VANCOUVERITES! Help?

VANCOUVERITES! Help?

Postby DirtyMartini on 20 May 2007 21:25

My internet skills seem to be failing me, so perhaps a local might be able to point me in the right direction:

I'm trying to find out where I might be able to donate blood while I'm in Vancouver. But so far the closest to the hotel/arena that I can find is near the Westfield Vancouver mall -- which is way too far for me to get to.

Would any of your kind locals know if there is a hospital or donation center within walking distance of the general GM Place area?

ETA: Ooh! I found this: http://www.blood.ca/CentreApps/Clinics/ ... VANCOUVER&

Can someone with a clue tell me if any of the following locations are even remotely close to GM Place?

888 DUNSMUIR STREET or 4750 OAK STREET ???

Thanks!

Hello DM; 888 Dunsmuir is close to GM Place and so is St.Pauls Hospital, located right downtown at Nelson and Burrard street. The Oak street address is too far from the city centre. Hope that helps. :D

Thanks, Caligula! My off-board helper said the same thing.

But it turns out that the Dunsmuir place is only open Tuesday and Wednesday -- which is after I leave. But thanks for mentioning St. Paul's Hospital -- maybe I can schedule something there. Thank you!

Can someone tell me what kind of electric plugs are used in Canada?
Are they the 2-straight prong type used in the US? Don't know if I need a converter.

It may sound stupid but I blew up a hair dryer in
London because I had the wrong kind of converter. :)

Hi Samburusunset, we have the same kind of plugs and voltage as the U.S. I think you folks have those 220 volt plugs over there and ours are 110 or so. 8)
