Maybe take with a grain of salt!!!!!!!!!!

The rumours:

1. The Fan Show is going to be very long and experimental (2 hours plus). Two new tracks will be featured. It will be video/audio recorded.

2. The two opening night Vancouver shows will also be video/audio recorded.

3. The box set may be delayed until after the tour and, then include disc 3 and disc 4 of new live material (from the Tour).

4. Two dvds are certain (the best of tour highlights and a separate documentary.)

5. No new full length album.

6. The set list will always include Roxanne, Message and Voices/World Running Down.

7. Henri P will show up at one or more select shows (the orginial 4 piece Police) for a few "early songs" and it will be recorded (video/audio)

8. Expect Broken Music versions of some of the Police songs like Invisible Sun, Roxanne, Voices/World Running Down, Next To You.

9. A acoustic version of Every Little Thing She Does is a possibility.

10. Expect taped loops for King of Pain, Walking In Your Footsteps.

filmed concerts

Postby Mercury Rising on 16 May 2007 01:03

Hello all,
I have knowledge that yes, they were planning to film a full music video and the first concert. But my friends who were approached as camera crew were told that those plans were cancelled a short while ago.... the mystery continues to unfold...

As spoilers go, those kinda suck. (E.g., you don't need to be much of a Holmes (or a House) to deduce the likelihood of the first shows being recorded.) Plus, we've already guestimated/rationalized/brainstormed/pointed out the obvious on at least half of those. Hell, *I* suggested on one of these threads that "Magic" would be a good possibility for an acoustic set.

Unless . . . maybe Stewart's getting his ideas from us! Oh, shit! He really does know if you've been bad or good! Big Stewart is watching!

 ( < That's Stewart watching. Everyone wave to Stewart!)
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

(wouldn't surprise me at all if STEWART were still hanging around here occasionally...maybe not posting because of the bedlam that would surely ensue...or because he's trying to deprive us so we'll be all that much more glad to see him. As if we could be any more glad...

Who cares - in LESS THAN ONE MONTH THE POLICE WILL HEADLINE BONNAROO!!!!

I'm dreaming, right? I've been waiting to snap out of this for a while now...and it keeps not happening...in fact, I keep meeting really cool people who seem to be sharing in this daytime delirium I'm imagining...;))

Thanks for posting this update from Stingus :)

Heh call me a spoil sport but now that the reality of the tour (and whatever form it will take) is so close, I'm actually not titilated by speculation and rumors anymore...whatever reality it will take shape as is close enough that we are going to start replacing speculation (even though that can be fun, too) with reporting from the events: how they sounded, what they played, how they played it, etc. (not really any more 'accurate' or a 'higher order' than speculation per se--of course-- since reports are subjective too!)--but it will be a shift nonetheless...et ready for a new phase, all!!

I wanna go to Vancouver so badly I could just die. But having you lot going is very nearly as good as being there. Especially since I know you're planning on posting a review immediately upon completion of the show. Right?! :)

Roo is only in 29 Days 12 Hours and 29 Minutes <cheers!>

And don't worry, DMotD: I'm pretty sure that there will be more reports from Vancouver than one will be able to process especially since there's such a shy and retiring lot from here going <grin> I'll personally promise one, even though I know there will be far more astute and interesting reports from others here...Regardless of whether one is in Vancouver or not, there will be so much info rolling in shortly...there will actually be real, substantive Police "news"! This is the calm before the storm...(is this calm? <giggle>)...

Now it's get ready for a whole new series of discussions and debates: correct and definitive set lists! opinions on re-Policified arrangements! Their overall sound for the reunion tour! their wardrobe! Their gear! etc., etc. Did anyone here ever f'in imagine these would be topics once again??! I'm sure Stewart is (although busy out of his f'in mind) happy to answer questions other than "I know everyone asks you this, but is there any chance the Police will get back together?"

And, hehe, in TPT and the official channels won't release any news as the gap closes to the tour beginning...we'll just have to make up our own! Even if its in verse <grin>

PS: random aside/question: I read somewhere that Andy is playing his signature Telecaster replicas on the tour...is this true, and if so, what happened to the original one? (I feel like I should know this....:)

But now the poor man is going to keep getting bombarded with the "what about a new album?" question. There's always something.

I've decided that I like the "experimental" aspect of Spoiler #1. I picture The Boys wearing big eyeball masks a la The Residents and playing all their hits in minor chords. T'would be awesome.

We'll be missing you in Vancouver, Dive. (Still checking out the last minute flight prices?) But Roo will be hear before you know it!

Heh, or Blue Man Group style? Or perhaps this revives the hopes of Stewart playing the triangle while Andy farts into the microphone? The possibilities are endlesssss...<grin>

Yeah, I'm pretty well feeling the same way. I'm not going to get all wrapped up in the speculation when the Real Thing is soon to be revealed.

However I DO have a special request for anyone who IS going to be in Vancouver for the FC show. I may not even have decent internet access that night or for a day or so afterwards, so would anyone willing to ring my cell phone after the show and fill me in on the good stuff? :D
