I used to listen to Red Rain over and over and over.

I love the beginning where the hihats start.
Gorgeous song. And of course, gorgeous hihats.

My pleasure, Hannah! Sorry I didn't see it sooner.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

To me, First Wave on Sirius would be my go to for party music.

Heh. Conroy nails it...that's my first preset on the car stereo. (I'm also fond of Buzzsaw and Octane, though...)

To KIMMY: Yes it does count, but only if you do the "vocal beatbox" that DJ's and Rappers do...y'know..ya sing the beat..."boom ta boom ,boom ta".

Your neighbours were great but then they went all commercial.

Today I bought many CD's (mostly Bob Dylan and bluegrass) but also WILCO Sky Blue Sky. It's not my favorite album but I like to support their work because at least it is very real, acoustics, good elec guitars, vocals, kinda country but not.

Anyway, it comes with a DVD showing them recording the album and performing some of the songs and interviews.

Kinda like how the NEW Police album should be, hint, hint.

Cheers all.

I need to pick up that new Wilco album asap (was listening to Mermaid Ave. earlier): I find myself liking much that fits into that genre that has come to be known as 'alt/country'...

I've been getting all sorts of crazy songs stuck in my head from my exercise classes where, obviously, you don't get to pick the music: get this, I haven't been able to shake the Pointer Sisters' 'Neutron Dance' since my class yesterday <giggle>

I love you people, yet again. Huge Wilco fan here too. I really like the new one (Tweedy did a few songs from it when I saw him solo back in February.) Hub is out at the record store picking up a copy as we speak - er, type...you gotta love anything featuring the mighty Glenn Kotche, my second favorite drummer.

Yet another reason Bonnaroo is the gift that'll keep on giving this year. Woohoo!

Get the WILCO CD with the DVD. It's a bit more money but if you love Wilco you will enjoy watching live in their loft. I love it when albums come with a DVD now a days. Everyone is doing it, Springsteen,Sting,Neil Young ,Bob Dylan...hopefully....The Police.

Sky Blue Sky is growing on me...I knew it would Wilco is like that, after a few listens you start to love it.

And by the way, The first Mermaid Ave CD is probably one of fav albums of ALL TIME!!! Great, Great music.

....next to Kimmy's neighbours of course.
Cheers.

I totally agree with you BongoBoy. The second one was pretty damned good, too.
