That is about All the practice I get is 15-20 min a day. But it is better than nothing. Our Jazz band played a little concert last tuesday, we did pretty well, sounded tight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8)

Slightly exciting news (for me)- I'm getting all the media (photo, video, audio) recordings that my other ex-band mates have so I can compile everything to throw online. At some point in the near future I'll send up a link as I'm currently redoing my website and will be making a page for drumming on there!!! :)

It's funny- I've been on drumming/music forums in the past but always just kinda stopped visiting them. You all help keep this fire burning, that's for sure!

Tee hee -- had to share an update on my "progress":

I kinda spent my drum lesson money on Vancouver (doh), BUT today I picked up a pair of sticks, a drum pad, and a copy of Stick Control. (Of course, after GSC's recent post elsewhere, now I'm wondering if I should have gotten the unvarnished sticks.)

Yeah, it's not much, but it's a start!

Whoo-hoo!

Heh, well yer on your way...I'm not sure if the contact dermititis was just me or more experience it, but see how they work for you...

Vic Firth has some lessons on their site that may be helpful, includes some video and, best of all, seeing as you are a fellow sufferer of sudden-Vancouver-syndrome too, they are free <grin>

Perfect description.

Thanks for the link, GSC. I've got a few dozen free lesson sites bookmarked that I have to organize and look through.

I think maybe I might schedule one lesson just to make sure I've got my hand positions right, etc. to get the ball rolling. Don't want to spend the next couple of months learning in a way that I'll have to unlearn later.
