Ladies and gentlemen...

Four weeks from next wednesday May 16th...

Yours truly and regional stew'ers shall gather in Manchester, TN USA at Bonnaroo to witness.......

THE POLICE!!

I love the way that sounds, "four weeks from next wednesday." It sounds like it's getting closer every time I say it. Umm, I guess that makes sense!

Sent in my deposit to work. I can only pray that the boys don't cancel playing at Bonnaroo. I would be screwed! They are the reason I am going.

Dive, start packing NOW!

Start? Aw hell. I'm already out of room in the Ford.

;)

Four weeks?! (faints)

Seriously, helps make it easier not to get to go to Vancouver. Just to know a.) it won't be a long wait, and b.) it'll be a terrific show. 'Roo always is, for some reason.

We just ordered the tent and the screen/shade thingy (the industry term, surely) and hubby scouted out the best bargain for a camp stove today...we're gonna have pieces of Roo stuff all over the living room soon, I can just tell <grin>

Or, another way of putting it: Bonnaroo is one month from Monday (month in the general sense, since Monday is May 14 and Roo starts on June 14th!)

For those of you lucky enough to live near this wondrous store, Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI) is having a terrific sale right now. Seriously. Everything in the store is like 30% off.

(I bought a bike in there about two weeks ago, before it went on sale...went in yesterday and they gave me the discount reflected in the sale price. !!! One reason they get so much of my business: actual customer service, which has declined markedly at other retailers in recent years...)

I used to just about live in REI when I was heavily into backpacking...really nice stuff...of course the stuff I had to have was never on sale...but that's just my luck <grin>

Umm..Gina....will you guys be cooking eggs in the morning on that stove? I can bring the coffee perhaps?

I am working on getting a power converter in my element to make coffee each morning and perhaps a microwave. Sorry, I'm not too proficient with the outdoorsy stuff. My sister is coming with me and will try to convert me to the outdoors, but it won't happen.

Good news is that I think I may finally get to meet the mighty Dive and Superkitty! (oh yeah and see the police I guess...)

Jedsoon's showing up too. And I wouldn't rule out some other late-breaking attendees...

I'm the local guide, so lemme know if anyone's got last minute logistical issues. Maybe we ought to resurrect the other Bonnaroo thread, in which I mentioned some issues like carrying water bottles into Centeroo, etc.

Maaaan, I wish I were going to be there with you guys! I almost had the hubby convinced to go, but he didn't want to do the camping thing this year and the hotel thing got expensive . . .

(Heh, I just realized how moot that is at this point, ain't it? Ha!)

You guys are going to have a blast!
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Dive,

Why don't we have a meeting of the Roo minds online chat or phone conference before Roo to work out details about meeting, water bottle stuff, etc. A cell phone list would be a great place to start but I think we should email that to each other and not necessarily on the forum.

Since you are the Roo veteran, why dont you start a new and final thread and ask for anyone going to send their Name, stew user id, email address, Cell number, whether they are general admission , vip or volunteering, and date of arrival at Roo? Then we can email you our info, a master list can be made and distributed to all stew forum attendees. Better yet, I will even collect all the info via email, make a master list, and send to you if you want. Give me the go ahead and I will start the thread.

Just thinking out loud. Other ideas?

Also, are we going to make our own stew shirts (with out copyright infringement of course!) with user id on the back? I think I am going to make a white one also. The black sc's are too hot for bonnaroo! and besides, it looks like there are NO XL's left on the website. I want the polo logo and not a Gizmo shirt.

Even if i could afford to go to the FC show, doing so would make this experience a letdown. Once to see the Police is going to be enough for me.

Hard to believe it's finally about time to start planning for this thing! My biggest concern is frying in that hot sun. I think I'm gonna wear long sleeves and pray for rain! I'll be easy to spot, because i'll *definitely* be wearing my floppy!
