Andy issue of Guitar Player now on the stands!

I was able to get my copy today - will probably be mostly of interest to "guitar geeks" out there as it's a lot of technique & tech talk, but here are a couple interesting quotes...

GP: You mentioned earlier that you and Stewart had jammed on some stuff that could develop into songs. Are you actively writing as the Police again?

AS: Yeah. We're definitely going to write at least two new songs. If it all goes well, we'll do an album. If business continues like it is for this tour, then the obvious thing is to make another album, put it out, and tour behind that, as well.

...

For me, it's just great to be in a band again. I find the whole experience of being in a rehearsal hall and working out material to be quite pleasant. This is what I was trained to do, and it's very cool. It's also wonderful to come back after all this time and have sellout concerts. And, as I rehearse more with Stewart and Sting, it's great to appreciate once again how non-generic the music we make is. In a way, the Police is its own music. It's what the three of us do together.

*

As a side note, I also noticed the new issue of DRUM! magazine (with Neil Peart on the cover) says that next month Stewart will be the cover artist (yay!)

WHOO-HOO!
I heart Andy.

(Seriously, Stewart -- how the hell are you managing to stay so damn quiet with all this?!? You must be on the moon!)

Heh they probably decided to let Andy do the talking for once <grin>

Ok, here's where I fucking die...of happiness...and glee...and poverty, in the future I see...<grin>

yes, it's superfluous for me to quote what sockii has already redacted from the story above, bbbbut, I jjjust can't help wanting to see that on its own <collapses in a fit of girly-giggles>

I'm serious, STEWART's got to be muzzled somewhere. ("Silence is golden, but duct tape is silver.") Or avoiding the forum, for fear of saying too much.

I always thought Andy was the "quiet one." Well I was seriously wrong. What are the chances they're going to road test those 2 songs prior to recording?

A quote so nice, it should be quoted thrice:

Man, the vapors!

I'm going to *try* to temper the excitement -- these are, after all, possibilities but not definites.

BUT just the idea that there is a really truly honestly possible possibility that the band might be back together for more than a single tour . . . I . . . I just . . . I . . . :D  <faint>

*whips out the smelling salts*

Would you guys really want to miss out on any good stuff that comes our way before the tour begins? Let's not forget, Stewart's on the next cover to Drum! Magazine. Let's see what the Lord and Master has to say.....

When, and if, a new Police album comes our way, I say we gather together, as much as possible, and storm the music stores en masse.

Since we haven't said it in a while, please let me add that no matter what does or does not happen,

Thank you, Stewart.

Oh yeah, for real. I wouldn't have the world's greatest compendium of fabulous correspondents without him, that's for sure. Even on top of all the excitement that's bound to bust loose in (takes deep breath) a little over two weeks...

I swear, I'm getting lightheaded. Plus, it's pretty hard to do a happy-dance boogaloo and type at the same time...;)

Great to saw Andy's opinion...in a way Andy has the credibility to be the more balanced in their opinions from them three, in spite of the fact, he has a particular sense of humour as a great inspired joker like he showed on THE POLICE movies 8)

Ya, surely, Jose...take it from me, the quieter one always commands full attention when they have something to say...I know it's hard to imagine me, a blabber-typer on this board, is relatively quiet in personal and professional settings but it's true...and when I do say something, it's heard...not that I'm anything like Andy...but I just can't keep still or quiet with all that's going on!!! <grin>

Que "SQUEEE!"

I have to admit that term is freaking hilarious, and totally descriptive of what I imagine everyone doing right after reading Andy's little teasers. :)
