S.O.S. for being at F.C. POLICE venue at Vancouver May 27th

Postby Jose on 07 May 2007 05:45

According to TPT:COM News their exist few extra tickets for the F.C. members concert at Vancouver March 27th...

As I am not a member of the F.C. I won't have the chance of buy it, but I have around two weeks and a half to make some tramits to be there...

First of all, I need to success the process of a VISA to enter Canada, in order to be a touristic visa and the main reason will be to be at a POLICE F.C. concert I need a ticket (possible a photocopy of It, I don't think they request about an original one) to show It at the canadian embassy at Lima... If they accept my documentation with the show of the ticket (or copy) and my financial background ( money in the pocket value a man with a suitcase ) I will be there... the spend tramits of visa ( accept or deny) will be around 5 days, also I need to re-valid my passport...and re-valid a credit card (It will spend another week I think) :S

DO YOU THINK IN 2 WEEKS I SUCCESS WITH ALL THESE TRAMITS??? also I need an air ticket to Vancouver and a hostel near the place of the concert...( no expensive ...any idea?)

so the big "Q"... Will be:

SOMEBODY HAVE AN EXTRA TICKET FOR THIS SHOW TO ME?
HOW MUCH IT COST? ( TPT.com told about U$50) I will buy It when I stay in Canada. Perhaps I only needs the photocopy of the Concert Ticket for the visa tramits at canadian embassy in Lima.

if not, SOMEBODY (TO BE A MEMBER OF THE TPT.COM F.C.) COULD BUY FOR ME A TICKET OF THE POLICE CONCERT AT VANCOUVER 27th?

How is the capacity of the place to be that concert? (I prefer first rows)

Regards and crossing my fingers,

The desperately JOSE from Lima - Peru

I really hope that all things work out for you, Jose, for the FC show!

Regarding the embassy visa: The tickets for the FC show are "will call" only, meaning that no one will get their tickets before the day of the show..."will call" means that you buy them in advance and actually have to pick them up at the venue on the day of the show, and you have to show your ID and the credit card with which you bought them in order to pick them up...so no one will have their ticket in advance or will be able to make a copy of it...They did this to prevent scalpers from buying up tickets and then re-selling them...

I would suggest contacting the Canadian embassy in Lima and checking with them as to what would count "proof" of your reason for going...since you won't be able to bring a photocopy of the ticket...I don't think you would have any trouble finding a ticket to the show either beforehand (there are some people on TPT selling theirs for cost, which is about 57 USD after fees...you would have to arrange with the person to meet them when they go pick them up, etc.) or once you are there but the problem seems to be providing proof of your visit in advance...perhaps a print out of the details of the show would be sufficient? Best thing to do would be to call the embassy, explain your situation, and ask what documentation would be required given the circumstances of the ticket system for this show...

If you need a receipt for proof of your visit, I'm afraid the only way I can think of to get that is to join the Fan Club and purchase the ticket through the club, then you will be able to print out a receipt with your name on it, proving your purchased the ticket and it will be waiting for you to pick it up, at least...I know that would be a gamble for you since you would have to join the club and purchase your ticket just to be able to apply for the visa...

Wishing you the best & take care, GSC

EDIT: Just thought of something else that may help...you could buy a cheap ticket for the opening show of the tour on 5-28 (post here and the free section of TPT) for 50 USD or cheaper, have the ticket mailed to you and then you would be able to provide proof of your visit, even if its for the show on the night after the Fan Club show. I don't know how much that will save you after the shipping...it might end up costing as much as the 100USD Fan Club but this way you could perhaps try and resell the ticket for 5-28 when you are in Vancouver and get your money back and still get to go to the Fan Club show...hope this makes sense and helps...

Hi Jose; I was just on the Ticketmaster website and there are still tickets available for the FC show on the 27th. As GSG mentioned, these tickets are based on a "will Call" basis and it will be next to impossible to get a proof of purchase to verify this date. I tried to get another ticket for you but because I was limited to only 2 tickets that I have already purchased, I was told that I had exceeded my limit and refused access to the website page (my wife would kick my ass for taking you instead of her!)
I would gladly get you a copy of my May 30th show ticket if it is of any help to you. You could also use me as a contact name and address in Vancouver if you require some proof of accommodation at your traveling destination. :)
You have my email address, keep me posted with any concerns and any progress you are able to make. 8)

thanks a lot for all your advices... I hope an invisible ticket could be necessary for canadian embassy... or showing a link to this site to prove to them I am one of the major POLICE fans around the globe and outer space and that only needs to see them on stage with all the same overseas fans that thinks like me that THE POLICE rules the world 8)

and also to convince them my only intentions to be there will be to see THE POLICE and then came back to my lovely home in Lima

So what is the capacity of the place for that show?

Perhaps the concert could be filmed and a party after the show would be happened...

If it not happen and if some of you talks with Andy, Stew or Sting...tells him one of the hardest fans stayed in PERU but was with them in hearth and mind...

Jose: the capacity for th GM place is about 18K-20K depending on configuration, etc.

Here's a pic from the outside:

http://www.canucks.com/images/GM%20Plac ... lace_b.jpg

The FC show will be in the same place as the first two nights of the tour but it will be scaled down to a more intimate scale on the FC night...The word is, given the sections that people are reporting to have tickets reserved for that the arena (people are in 118 and 105), at least according to our best guesses, the show will be in the following configuration (the 300 level seats blocked off, only Floor and 100 level):

http://www.canucks.com/images/GM%20Plac ... 180hky.pdf

Note: ignore the larger numbers in bold, the relevant sections are the lighter numbers in the boxes...But that chart is not official for the show setup, so like I said it's just a guess as to how they are going to configure the arean for the more intimate feel but keep it set up for the opening full-arena show that begins the tour on the next night...

Total capacity for the GM arena? like 20,000

Wild guess for the FC show? Something like, I dunno...10,000? That's just me eyeballing the seating chart so....But that is assuming that the entirety of the reported sections are being used...Someone reported that sect. 117 row 23 was coming up in their search a few weeks ago, so it appears that the full sections of that first tier are being used...

Yeah, getting a ticket to the show is the easy part.

Getting to Vancouver is the hard part.

How do your chances of getting there look, Jose?
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

I died for been there with yours!!!! But for me isn't easy... First of all, I need to buy a ticket...and without a credit card is impossible... then the tramits to get the visa and revalid my passport, next buying a flight to Vancouver and hotel... perhaps I will waste around U$ 1,500 for being there...

I don't know where will be located the place of the concert... perhaps miles away from downtown Vancouver? where is the closest hotel for me next to the airport or next to the place of the concert? what about transportation? Buses, Metro or Taxi? :?

Wooow I found the cheapest flight from Lima to Vancouver around 842.39 euros without taxes and 1 scale Lima - Los Angeles - Vancouver from 00:40 am to 15:35 pm

That's what embassy put for getting a visa for peruvians, in comparisson with USA that is harder than an invisable "Iron Wall" for Canada isn't the same:

http://geo.international.gc.ca/latin-am ... _04-en.asp

TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISAS (Visitor/ Business/Transit)

Persons who are neither citizens nor permanent residents of Canada may require a visa before visiting Canada. You may confirm whether or not you require a visa by checking the list of countries whose citizens require visas. If you hold a passport of a country that does not appear on the list, you may travel to Canada with only a valid passport or travel document.

To be issued a Temporary Resident, or Visitor, visa, you must satisfy an officer that you are not seeking to study or work in Canada without authorisation; that you have the means to support yourself during your visit; that you have sufficient ties to your country of residence, including immigration status, employment and family ties; that you are not inadmissible to Canada; and that you will leave Canada by the end of the period authorised for your stay.

A visa may be for a single entry, for multiple entries, or for transit purposes. A single entry visa allows you to enter Canada only once. However, if you leave Canada to go the United States or St. Pierre et Miquelon, you may use this single entry visa to return to Canada provided that your return occurs within the period allowed for your original stay in Canada.

Properly completed Temporary Resident visa application forms and all supporting documents may be submitted at any time to the Embassy guardhouse in a sealed envelope. These documents may also be mailed to the Embassy, "Attention: Visa Section".

It is your responsibility to include all required documentation at the time of submitting the application since the decision on your application will be made based on the documentation you presented. The processing fee payment does not guarantee an interview or the visa, however you may be contacted and asked to come for an interview.

This process has a 5 working day service standard. Please note that the service standard can take up to 10 working days due to high demand or if you are asked to come for an interview.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Enquiries on cases falling within our estimated processing times will not be answered.

Required Documentation

- If you are 65 years of age or older AND your visa is approved, you will be requested to obtain an International medical Insurance covering the entire period of your intended stay in Canada.

Thanks a lot "GinaSuperCat" for the map and the nice pic of the GM Colisseum... but I want to be in the first rows of the floor next to my band

If I would be in Vancouver I will waste extra incomes:

Air Ticket U$ 1,350 ??
Visa U$100???
Passport revalidation U$50
Hotel per night in Vancouver U$ ??
Meal, transportation, and others U$ ??
Taxes from exit airport U$ ??
POLICE CONCERT TICKET U$ 57

I feel so!!! So Lonely, So lonely !!! :(

[quote="Jose"]So what is the capacity of the place for that show?

Jose: From what I can gather the FC show will only be seating 8,000.
The other 2 main event shows will be seating people everywhere possible including behind the stage, up in the rafters and on your lap if they could. Good luck, keep us posted. 8) 8) 8)
