I guess that drummer of that band you are talking about (Douche something...) should listen to music, and not just to 'banging drums', if he knows what that means...I guess he's just into bangin', that's his problem; he may do the best banging, but as to music culture I guess he got to learn something....and a lot...
That's the problem of so many musicians, they believe that is good just what they like (I know may jazz players thinking like that...ahahahah), but anyway the most important thing when you play an instrument, is listening to what the whole band plays (Iif I don't get wrong, Stewart also said that in a recent interview); this is what came to my head when I started playing when I was 4 r 5 years old (my first drumset)...lately I became a guitar player and a bassist player when I reached 16 or 17...
It's a worldwide opinion that Stewart drumming (like it or not) inspired so many musicians and made school...Vinnie Colaiuta (that I don't personally like but I consider one of the best around), theorised what Stewart did instictively... I guess that Duche guy should learn something from the music world...
