Sting reviews Police albums - unique perspective -early 90's

Couldn't pass this up. Notice how giddy & maybe even happy Sting appears talking about the albums. Doesn't have that "straight jacket" of serious solo musician attitude like he projected in the '90's.

anyways, that's the old Sting I liked!!!

on 2 minutes 20 second it looks like the police shot a video for the song when the world is running down. Could gio , socki or divemistress confirm whether this is the case?

Yeah, a video shot in Rio de Janeiro, and mixed with a live performance in LA, Variety Arts Theatre in january 16, 1981.

This MTV review is cool ! I've never seen this before. Thanks wgtomlinson !

Great clip. Thanks, WGT.

Can anyone ID the performance of "So Lonely" at the beginning? It's a great rendition. There's a pretty cruddy copy of it on youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duXohSAjP2w

Oddly enough, that was recorded in the 90's. If I remember correctly, it was done as part of the promotional work for Message In A Box, which would mean around September 1993.

I also recall an interview from the same period that Sting did directly with Kurt Loder in which he discussed the box set. My memory tells me that it took place backstage at some award show (MTV Video Awards perhaps?).

Really good clip.

I concur with the comments...the old Stingo....good thing is, I personally think he is back.

and that is waaaaaaaaaaaaay cool.

I have to go back and watch him compliment "Copie" again...can't believe it!

Thanks.

I believe my previous reply was deleted. This link does not work anymore, folks. We get a deleted by a third party message. Has this video been posted anywhere else? And please, don't delete my comment. I'm not making it up that the link is dead.

Thanks.
